With cheats, too many.

One day, a couple days after capturing 60+ shiny Pokémon with cheats, I was playing without cheats, only having cheated a bunch of Master Balls to make things quicker.

I needed a Ditto.
I found a shiny Raticate. Holy crap I was shocked and surprised. Caught it with an Ultra Ball to make it feel more legit.

On the same day the evening I released the Raticate because I didn't like Raticate lol. Cheating beforehand made this much less special ... Thanks to this experience I absolutely hate shiny cheat codes and I basically don't use them. I also avoid using cheat codes in general now because it's less fun that way anyway.

It was on Pokémon Leaf Green I think, could have been Fire Red.

Nidoran female.

My long hours of shiny hunting has paid off with a little help from the lockdown over the last 2 weeks.

Hatched 2 shinies out of around 800 or so eggs, one Eevee and one Ralts so I'm happy.

I've probably captured 20ish shiny Pokemon. I've only hunted for them once, and that was in Let's Go, where I chained nearly 300 Caterpie before finding a shiny Weedle, breaking the chain, and finding a shiny Caterpie literally 5 minutes later. Probably one of my favorite events to ever happen to me in a Pokemon game.

I don't think I've caught any new shiny pokemon in the years since I last replied to this thread, however if we bring pixelmon into the discussion I can say I have caught a lot more shinys including more shiny skourpi's that evolve into my dreaded shiny drapion that I'm not sure if I mentioned last time.

The only time I ever caught a shiny was a Shiny Spearow in Firered… years ago. I haven’t gotten a shiny since and I don’t consider hacked games as genuine captures so… yeah

Three to my knowledge. However, I'm not sure I recall all of them? A shiny golbat was my first, kinda a sad start. Then I got a shiny psyduck I believe, much better, but I didn't want to evolve him into a golduck. Then I got some strange shiny in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, some kind of wheel Pokémon I think?

So far throughout my Brilliant Diamond journey, I caught four shines. When I add those onto the ones I had from the past and a ton from about an extra 200 hours of Sword and Let's Go Pikachu from the last 18+ months, my total has gone up to 31.

Today I finally caught my second ever gen 5 and up shiny Pokemon (the first being a Shiny Burmy I hatched in Pokemon X). I pretty much only get lucky in gen 3 and 4, but today I got Legends: Arceus in the mail and in the first area of the game I encountered a shiny geodude! I was super excited as I wasn't even certain shinies were in the game so it was a nice surprise. And geodude is gold when he's shiny so I got a good one as well

I found out I can get a Golem by myself in this game so she will be evolved all the way through. I'm currently using her on my team as well as she hits very hard with Rock Slide and Bulldoze.
