I just noticed something after rereading the Naruto manga chapter 510.
Tobi say the the Uchiha and the Senju are two of the 6 paths, and later on in the same chapter he says the Uzumaki were the third. So, who are the other 3?

Senju, Sounds like a family name just like Uchiha and Uzimaki, There are still more families out there if it simply has to do with families, It could be anyone from the Hyuga to Nara, I don't really know though.. I'll summon someone who may be able to answer your question properly though.

Frodlex : Firstly, the Senju are the family of the first Hokage.

Secondly, I think he is confused. I do not read the manga, but I am up to date minus one episode in the anime in English Subbed. Only thing I can think of are two possibilities, and they are very different.

First: I recently learned that the Rinnegan is the final stage of the Sharigan. That could explain the Uchiha's part, but not the Uzimaki or Senju's.

Second: Major families, possibly. Uchiha are feared because of their fire type Jutsu, and because if their Sharigan. Senju... I can not remember what makes them famous and feared; sorry. The Uzamaki's are known for their sealing jutsu, if I am remembering who is who from Naruto's parents.
If this be case... Maybe the Hyuga with the Byakugan, But I can not think of the other 2... Very interesting. Frod... We should look into this. The only thing I can suggest is to wait til more chapters cone out to explain more.
