whats up vizzards? It is I general spleen here with some great news!!! I have finally reached adulthood. I have finally become the age of twenty one years old!!!!! I turned 21 last June on the 20th. It's been a long time coming but I've finally made it. But now that I have my life has gone bad. A few days after my birthday I took my mom's car to pick her up some chili from Wendy's which took forever I might add... but on the way back home I took the back roads to my house which was only five minutes away and this idiot was speeding around a turn as well as being in my lane. I think he was drunk. But anyways I swerved out of the way to avoid him and the side of my car slammed into a telephone pole hard but the car was still running and moving. So I tried to hit the brakes but I'm thinking that I might have hit the gas in the panic state that I was in from hitting something and ran into a deaf child sign. The sign broke off and slammed into the windshield and shattered it but it didn't break it. And then I ran over I think my mom said 3 mailboxes as well. I somehow was able to drive the car home. I told my parents what happened and they were more worried about the car then me. My mom then took me back to where the accident happened and there was a cop there. After about 5 minutes the cop followed my mom back to the house to take a look at the car. I could have gone to jail that night but somehow I ended up not getting a ticket, getting arrested, or anything. I was really lucky. And then two days later My mom woke me up to do dishes. She was in a bad mood already. I started doing dishes and one of the dishes got stuck. So I pulled it out and my mom thought I was angry and I was trying to break the dish so she told me to pack my bags and she was going to take me to the police office to see if they could help me. They couldn't really help me so I was on my own for about an hour or two sitting besides a 7/11 gas station. I was finally able to get a hold of someone who picked me up and brought me to this shelter right next to where my mom works and that's where I am currently living now. While I was here I was able to get a job and I got my first pay check last Friday. I had to give $320 from my check of $413 to my mom to get the car I crashed out of the shop where it was getting repaired. And I still owe my mom around $2,000 to $3,000 for stuff like rent, phone bill, and other stuff. So far being 21 hasn't been really fun or exciting at all which makes me upset. But this isn't normally what happens when someone turns 21 so don't think that. This is just my experience I had. And I must say... it sucks. But I was able to meet my amazing girlfriend on here and she has helped me through so much... and I love her to death. And in all honesty I would die for her safety even though its only been a month or so since we started dating. I really hope she reads this because she means the world to me. But anyways that's how my 21st birthday went. Let me know what you guys think. This is general spleen signing off. Bye everyone

Thank you very much and have a blessed day

Intense.

As far as the paying bills and rent and stuff goes; that is life. You are an adult now so that stuff is to be expected. You should probably tell your mom that you will send her a set amount of money per paycheck like $300 or something so she knows what to expect. You can then do the math of how many paychecks it will take to pay off the bills.

Some people have it harder than others. Remember that there is a recession going on and a lot of people are in the same boat as you right now man; especially Americans.

You seem to be heading in the right direction though. Remember to save your money and not make stupid purchases. When you are on your own, life smacks you in the face and throws things in your way to slow you down. Its not how hard you fall, its how you bounce back. It seems like you are in the process of bouncing back nicely. Once your debt to your mom is gone, its pure profit. Keep your head up man. Better days lie ahead in the not so distant future. Just keep going and dont let any obstacle prevent you from being successful.

All the best man.

First off, congratulations on turning 21. I understand that's quite a milestone.

Second, that driver was an idiot. I feel really bad for you (and your car). Hopefully you weren't hurt too bad.
