I'm thinking about this for quite sometime, You see usually when the tdv happens or Sometime not even a posting competetion a Lot of old threads end up getting bumped.

So I was thinking a way we can categorize threads:

For example: 
 New:
The new category goes for the newest and latest threads made. 

Old:
Were old threads like over a year old go. 

Closed: Just were closed threads go.

This in my opinion would not just probably help users know what's new and old, but  It will help them probably prevent to bumping a thread, which happens a lot, and plus in general it'd probably make thread searching more easier. 

Anyone with me on this idea?

It actually sort of works like this. They bump the closed threads down or to the trash can, and the rest of the threads are based on activity. Although, I see what you're saying. This idea would be more efficient than the current system. Support.

There's no need to trash the closed threads, they would just be in the closed section of fourms.     And besides we already have that feature, refer to the trash and treasure can.   Bad threads=to the trash can. Treasure can= for great threads that die like ask anything threads that get a lot of replies. Threads that aren't bad or good enough can just go in the closed section of the fourms, and stay there. got it.
