This has been bothering me ever since several hours ago, and I feel that I really need to get it off my chest.

I was with a group of friends and we were attending an anime convention that was held here. The two boys went to the bathroom to change into their cosplay costumes, so me and my other friend were by ourselves waiting on them. To past the time, my friend showed me this video on her ipad:

In the beginning, white letters on a black background were shown that said: "this can happen to anyone..."
Then the scene switches to a guy in camouflage apparel with a matching mask on facing his back against the wall, apparently posing as a fake burglar. He signals the video camera with a hush sign, indicating that this was meant to be a prank. A girl on the phone walks in with a bag full of groceries. After she set down the groceries on the counter, she was still too busy talking on the phone to notice the guy on the wall behind her. When she finally hanged up on the phone, she turned around and became absolutely terrified at the appearance of a masked stranger in her home. She ran out the door, and the guy chuckled a little bit and brought the camera with him to see how long before the girl realizes she's been tricked.

The camera shows the girl running down the stairs and into the street. At that time, I remember thinking: 'wow, I wonder how far she'll r-'
Then suddenly, a car runs her over. And I mean literally over. She was already under the vehicle by the time the car stopped. I remember hearing the guy scream. He ran to the scene of the accident and showed the dead girl under the car. The video then switches back to white lettering on black background and said: "think before you prank" or something.

Some of my details may be a little fuzzy; I was too shocked at what happened to take in everything. My friend told me that this is real; that it's a prank gone wrong. After a few hours, I thought about it being a fake; however, it would still bother me even if it was proven to be fake.

I can get why she would show me this though, it's a life lesson after all -- a cruel one at that. Although, I do wished that she would've told me the story rather than show it, as it would have been less scarring to me. 

If I had not occupied myself, I would often think about the video during the anime convention. That's how much it bothered me. I even cringed a lot while typing this. Since I'm probably the most pampered out of all of my friends, maybe viewing the video was not such a bad thing. A part of me thinks that watching something like this will help me mature better, yet another part of me wished that I've never seen it in the first place.

You can tell your friend that it is 100% fake. For one, it was on youtube. Youtube cannot show real death videos. But that is neither here nor there. The actress who 'got killed' posted on her Facebook that it was a film, not real.

The car hit scene was done using green screen and an animation program. It is actually a very simple special effect that anyone could do. Here is a link to a video that shows how it is done

I could, but my actual problem is trying to get over it. Sorry if I wasn't clear on my original post. 

I did thought about it being fake since the camera position was too perfect; regardless, it still bothers me. Seeing the scene is like watching a scary movie: I know that the movie is absolutely made by actors/tresses with makeups and special effects. However, the scene is implemented in my mind and will terrify me until I stop thinking about it, which is hard for me to do.

Mistress : yeah defiantly fake, but since that's not your issue it's just one of those things that gets stuck on your mind and you can't shake for a little while it'll go away. When I watched Jeepers Creepers it bugged me for a little, not the movie itself which was laughably bad at some parts. But what my imagination created of it, also I once saw a columbian beheading video which was real now that sucked big time

No, you were clear. I just forgot to address the fact that it still freaked you out. But your friend insists that it is real, so you can at least debunk that to her.

If it shocked you like that, then I would say that the ones who made the short video achieved their goal. I don't think it was supposed to actually be a video to warn people about pranks, they were going for shock value. Your reaction would be exactly what they hoped for. Not that your reaction is bad (wanted to make sure I didn't imply that I think it is)

I see, thanks for your replies. They helped me calm down a lot for some reason now that I know this info.

But now that I think about it, she may had said it was real just to scare me, it's hard to tell with her sometimes.

Yeah sometimes your own imagination is scarier than anything you can watch or see, at least that's the case with me. I hope we helped you out here at least.

Just try to keep your mind occupied for the next few days and hopefully you'll start to forget about it. It should be easier now that you know the video fake. I've seen the same beheading video that UFC mentioned and another video much worse that I won't give any details about and it's hard after seeing stuff like that but you gotta try to do stuff you enjoy afterwards to keep your mind occupied. You gotta counter the negative energy with positive energy. You will eventually forget about it but sooner or later you're gonna see something else that is more frightening than the first thing. Just try to stay positive, and hopefully enough positive energy from everyone will spread to the negative spots and prevent things like this from happening.

My guess is that it's a fake meant to scare people. And apparently it served it's purpose. Don't worry about it. Try to think of positive things and it will go away.

When I first saw the trailer for the movie Mirrors (I think that's what it was called) I was afraid to even enter a room with a window. But I got over it. How you ask? I stood in front of a mirror for a few minutes and after nothing happened I was fine. I know you probably wouldn't be able to immerse yourself into a car crash but maybe just realizing that it won't necessarily happen to you could be enough to get over it.

it's fake. Just relax about it. Not a big deal, really. All it is is just a video. It was proved to be a film, anyways. Also, to get over it, face it. This case is particularly harder to face, but, all you really have to do is realize that it won't happen to you, and keep believing that.
