As you know I am a fan of DOS gaming, and I like to collect DOS games. However I am limited to CD-ROM games. I've came up with the idea of getting a USB floppy drive so my collecting can be a little more open. However the question is "Can it really be put to use?". I have looked up one game called Police Quest and it looks like good and affordable game to buy, however if I am going to really put my floppy drive into use I'll need more games than one! So with the previously mentioned question, I also have another question: "What are some of the best ONLY floppy disk based DOS games?". I want to know your answers and thoughts. I just can't read your minds!

Well if you're really into DOS gaming then yeah, it's definitely worth it, but you know you can find those games online, right? Just search for abandonware sites, or check out goodoldgames.com

Unless of course, you REALLY want that authentic feel to it. If I had to guess, I'd say that USB floppy drives are likely to show up as USB drives rather than floppy drives, and some games may have trouble with that. If so, there are ways you can remap the drive to A: so it shouldn't be that much of a problem.

So I don't know, really the only person who can answer that question is you. Do you have the money to pay for such a device? Do you think you'd use it enough to warrant the purchase?

I love Abandonia and GOG.com. However I do think that Abandonia's legality is questionable. I found some good floppy games that I think are worth playing from LGR. Hopefully I can get a floppy drive for Christmas. Thanks for your feedback!
