The Cure

Chapter 1

Many years ago, in the mystical world of Andoras, across the sea of Pandrox, and across the state of Barbeeq, there was a prosperous and peaceful nation called Netherus. It's wealthiest state, Britannica, was the location of a civil war.

Before this war, there was an Emperor who ruled and oversaw Britannica. The Emperor-Zebulon-ruled with strict but fair laws. This made him more popular with the citizens, and his wise use of power ensured the peace and prosperity of the state for decades.

However, there was one person who despised Zebulon's power over the state-Gromitz, the Evil Wizard. He was power greedy, and was jealous of Zebulon. He thought that his method of power and control would be better for the state. Zebulon understood him, and asked Gromitz if he wished to co-operate in ruling the state.

Gromitz, unfortunately, turned out to be both cruel and incompetent, so the citizens of Britannica did not respect or admire him.

Eventually, Gromitz grew so jealous of the Emperor that he declared war on him and his people. The state was no match for Gromitz, who-using a strange mixture of deadly chemicals-won the war. The population knew that defeat was inevitable, and gave in to their new leader, the self-proclaimed Great Gromitz. Many people and animals died. The once glorious countryside was also polluted for what appeared to be forever.

Gromitz ordered for Zebulon to be sent into exile in the Northern Island of Tongwe. The tyrant then ordered for a new palace filled with every know luxury to be built only for him, to protect him against the effects of the poisoned air.

Years passed. The people of Britannica tried to live life as ordinarily as they possibly could, but were hindered by a strange illness which swept the land faster than the wind itself. Many people were too ill to farm or work, and as the state became more and more desperate, so did the people. The chemicals that Gromitz had used in the war had affected the immune systems, and with no known cure, the population was in despair.

But then, a rumor began circulating among the people. It was widely believed that the former leader, Zebulon, possessed a cure for any illness, disease or ailment. However, it was known that he had grown extremely bitter in his age, and was upset that the citizens had put up with the tyrannical Gromitz for so long.

As even more years went by, Zebulon took pity on the suffering people. He sent a private message to the Mayor of Britannica, David Deed, the notorious rebel known for his speeches. He had stated that that he agreed to negotiate with a rebel, and he was ready to pass down the cure. The problem is that he would only permit one person from the state to visit him on the island of Tongwe.

And so the adventure began...
