The screen isn't actually "Bigger".
They simple increased the size, stretching out the image.
The resolution did not change, they're just stretching it out to fit a bigger screen.

The battery life is crap.

It's actually capable of more than the previous DS models. They're going to make "DSi Enhancement Card" which will, when played on a DSi, give you more content. You can still play with the other 2 DS models, but you'll get the full experience when played on a DSi.
