xandermartin98 : They did.  Megaman Network Transmission was for the Gamecube, and was set in the same universe as Megaman Battle Network.  It got lackluster reviews, but I, for one, liked it a bit.

Love the Metroid idea. I would love to see Castlevania, and maybe some of the other Final Fantasy games. Not as retro as other sets, but I'd like to see Kingdom Hearts. Castlevania would start with zombie, or maybe bat, and progress either to one of the Belmonts or Dracula, having Soma Cruz and the like in the middle. Kingdom Hearts would start at shadow and progress to one of the following, not sure which: Final Form Sora, Ansem the Wise, Master Xehanort.

I would love to see dragon warrior as an option.  This is one of my favorite series and it has good characters.  Not sure about later levels but the slime would be awesome for the first level.
