I've pressed the F2 button like it tells me to, but the Genesis emulator simply will not save state...this is a real problem. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Have you tried both emulators? There seems to be a problem with the RGR Plugin with saves in the Genesis emulator during an update, so the links for both emus were implemented to the game pages.
