Ah, puzzle games, I was never a big fan of them, as a kid the first ever experience I had with puzzle games was with, well tetris. I mean all the colorful blocks....makes me think of something here! About a year ago, my friend decided to give me this game, puyo pop fever, I had already heard of the puyo pop games at the time, so I wanted to give this game a chance. This is puyo pop fever for the Game boy advance.

Story-7/10
Ms accord, a teacher at the primp magic school, has lost her flying cane, the equivalent of a magic wand, and clims to have a reward for who finds it. You play as either Amtie or raffine, 2 students at the school, as you adventure across the puyo pop fever world to find the cane, while meeting many wacky characters along the way and battling them.

Gameplay-8/10
The basic game mechanics are mainly similar to those of the original game, the player has a 6X12 board, and must decide where to place incoming groups of variously colored blobs, or puyos. After placing each set of puyo, any groups of four or more of the same colored adjacent puyo will pop.  Any above will fall down and can form more groups for a chain reaction. Each time groups of puyo pop, the player will score points and more importantly send trash to their opponent. These puyo are colorless and will only pop when puyo next to them do so, rather then groups as normal. If a player's board fills up, either if they cannot make groups or if they are sent a large amount of trash, they lose and the other player will win.

Graphics-8/10
Graphicwise, puyo pop fever isn't that bad! All the backgrounds are colorful, so...the one thing about this game, well of course it is full of color! I mean afterall, the game is all about stacking bean thingies! All the characters have a ton of detail also. Sega is a no brainer when it comes to big colorful games....

Sound-7/10
Oh yes the sound, the most sound you will be hearing this game is the sounds of all the beans disappearing and being dropped into the houses. All the voice clips are pretty AWESOME for a Game boy advance game! All the characters say stuff in matches depending on what happens. Music, I admit, I never actually heard the music in this game, mainly because all the other noise playing in the background, but who cares? At least we got music....

Addictiveness-9/10
OMG! The day I got this game, I could not put it down! I mean, the overall concept of stacking beans are making them disappear is like a staple of puzzle games, heck, Puzzle games are all about stacking stuff! This is a game that I will NEVER put down....not even on a bad day...

Depth-9/10
Oh....my....god, this has got to be the biggest puzzle game I have ever played, there are so many modes and things to do in this puzzle game it's insane! For instance, there is a new "Fever" mode (Hence the game title) in which, when this bar in the middle of the game screen is all the way filled up, to fill the bar, you must offset (or counterattack) the trash being sent to the field by the opponent. Every chain, which is a single popping of puyo, will fill one space in the fever meter until it is full, which is when fever activates. In fever mode, a pre-designed chain will fall onto an empty field. In a limited amount of time, one must find a trigger point in the puzzle, which will cause a large chain to go off and attack the opponent. Once a chain is made, another puzzle falls, bigger and more complicated than the previous one. This keeps occurring until time runs out, then it returns the player to his or her original field.

Difficulty-5/10
Difficulty wise, the game isn't really that hard, I mean there is a difficulty setting, easy, medium, and hard. So it doesn't really matter much. The game is still somewhat a cakewalk for the most part.... Except, oh my god....that wretched bird! He took me other 10 tries to beat! That's alot!

Overall-8.3/10
So in general, if you're a fan of puzzle games, and don't know which ones to get, I HIGHLY suggest you get this gem. While it is not as good as other puzzle games, it is still worth a shot! So, those are all the reasons why I rated this game a 8.3. So, I don't have anything else to say except, buy this amazing gem of a game! See you in my next review!

RedHotToddy : Hey there mate!? .. How are you? I'm fantastic!

I've never really seen someone review a puzzle game before, very interesting!  I'm glad you included a small introduction, that's really helpful and informative. Nice work.

Woah! Everyone is beginning to start their reviews with Story now, it used to be graphics! That's very interesting and different. I love seeing different things in reviews. Surprises are what I enjoy. Starting with story really lightened the mood because I wasn't expecting it and I wasn't going to be reading the same old, same old.

There were a lot of descriptions in this review which is awesome. You put good detail into your review. I would just say to work on grammar a little bit, there's tweaks needed here and there, but that's about it!

Overall: Nice review! Keep it up!

This is a really good review! I was never into puzzle games much myself, but it really depends on if the game is good or not. Anyway, I like the effort, detail and information you put into your review to make it interesting and well made. I think that is key to a good review, good organisation, detail, and information as well. I think you executed your points well and explaind them very good as well. I agree with the reasoning for your scores, you are doing an amazing job with your reviews, you are getting better fast! So overall, keep up the great work and keep makung more reviews, this was a good read!
