The Brain
A Poem by Thing1

You know, I always thought of you as a nuisance. 
You always mess with my emotions when I don't want you to. 
And when I need your help, you are never there. 
Why do you never help me? 

There was that time during that Calculus test, 
I could not remember the formula for that problem. 
Then, after the test, you decided to show up. 
Why do you always show up late? 

Then when I made that bad decision. 
I tried to think logically, 
But you made me think about what I wanted. 
Why are you not sane, like you should be? 

Then all the times when I could not decide if I should or shouldn't. 
I always picked the wrong choice. 
And you know why?
Because you were not there. 

But then you have moments...

Like when I decided to grow up; 
You were there for that. 

When I decided to be mature?
You were there for that too. 

And then there was that time when...
Well, let's leave that one alone. 
You were just there for that one. 

But most recently, 
You were there when I needed you. 
When I needed the courage; 
You were there, brain. 

Why can't you ever make up your mind?
It's like...
You have a brain of your own?
