Faithnomore : Heh, I was that way too when I first joined. On the NES, I was into several games: Baseball Stars, Tecmo Bowl, Contra, SuperContra, DoubleDribble, Skyshark, Operation Wolf, TMNT(it was so long ago I forget if it was the first one but it was effing hard for me. I was shocked that I actually beat it once(just jump kicked the crap out of shredder if memory serves)), and Star Wars(never made it past the escape from the Death Star). Then there is Super Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt but you all knew that right? Did you play any of those games I listed? Also, what games on the SNES and other platforms are catching your eye?

Almost forgot to introduce myself. I'm Steve but I go by DarkHelmet or DH for short. I hope your time on Vizzed has been a memorable one and be sure to ask questions if you should have any.

DH110985 : DarkHelmet you say...sounds like your a Spaceball fan to me(one of my favorite spoof movies).

I seem to be looking into the RPG section of console games at the second, from SEGA CD(Eye of the beholder) to N64(Orarina of time).

Are there any games you would recommend on any of the platforms Steve?

Faithnomore : Spaceballs is indeed one of my favorite movies. Feel free to visit my intro: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=60328 As for what games to play, Zelda on ANY platform is worth taking a look at. Zelda: A Link to the Past on SNES is a great game and its in this game that certain weapons make their first appearance(such as the Megaton Hammer). The original Zelda on the NES is also worth looking into(pretty much get your sword and proceed to slash your way into glory). Then Zelda Ocarina of Time on N64 is frankly the best Zelda game of them all and has been ranked #1 game of all time in some gaming polls. Heck Link(main character you play in Zelda) even beat Cloud of the Final Fantasy(FF) series in a popularity contest. Speaking of FF, that is also a good RPG series worth looking into(even though I've never played any of them(word of mouth and the game's reputation speak for themselves)). Another good RPG series is Kingdom of Hearts(if you like Disney characters).

DH110985 : Thanks for taking your time to put down some great titles Steve, as for the Zelda games i have previously owned Links awakening on the gameboy and Ocarina of time.I'm still yet to play the others but I'm looking forward to that after I'm done with my current games.

As for the Final Fantasy series  I'm no stranger to the latter titles such as 7,8,9 but never played the original one's, so once again I'll be doing those soon!I do recommend you look in to playing those sometime if the later one's are anything to go by.

I will be sure to visit your thread for any game idea's if i get lost within the infinite collection this site provides, as i seem to keep doing :p

Faithnomore : Your welcome. May I ask if your into other game genre's besides RPG's? Like for example, do you like racing games, sports games or flight simulator games(you fly around a craft basically). My favorite racing game is Mario Kart 64. For sports games, there are plenty of those, but some of the NES games I mentioned were some of my favorites. As for flight simulator games I recommend Skyshark(NES), Starfox(N64) and Rogue Squadron(N64).

DH110985 : Yes i pretty much enjoy all genres, so there's not much that a don't like thankfully I have owned Mario Kart Double Dash on the gamecube some years back and i must say it was a lot of fun to play i am tempted to get a Mario Kart title on here so i can play it multiplayer(as i enjoy it more that way) .I'm currently playing Wipeout 64 as i did play that when i was younger and it still doesn't disappoint.Flight simulation games i must admit i really haven't played much of sadly, but i have played Starfox when i was a child and as i remember it was fun

So at the moment I'm mixing things up with Pokemon & Kingdom hearts on the GBA, Wipeout64 and  Zelda on the Nintendo6.There are some platformers from SEGA I'm interested in playing such as Another World on the Megadrive as i remember it having a outstanding review years and years ago(quite odd how i remember these things :p)

Heyo, welcome to the almighty Vizzed, home of nearly every Retro game you can think of. Hope you're enjoying yourself so far, I certainly am. I'm relatively new like you, but I have learned some of the ins and outs, so if you need a little help there I'd be glad to. Anyway, in the way of games to try here there are many. Like DHll0985 said, the Zelda series is most definitely one to try out, especially Ocarina of Time. I'd also recommend Mario 64, Paper Mario, and one of my personal favorites, Conker's Bad Fur Day. And there's also Yoshi's Island, and Metroid Zero Mission. There is also this new game I just found out about called Shantae, it's pretty interesting so far.

Yes i have been playing Ocarina of Time and i must say it's still just as fantastic as ever!I don't think it will ever fade in my eyes
Thanks for mentioning some of your recommended games as it's always helpful and interesting to hear others peoples personal favorites.I have been tempted to play Mario 64 and think i might a little later on.I've never heard of Shantae before so I'll have a look for it shortly to see what it's like.

Of course =D and agreed, Ocarina of Time is an awesome game, instant classic right there. And sure, like I said I can recommend more. And yeah, Shantae is pretty obscure, I only just learned about it myself. It was made for the Gameboy Color, but unfortunately it got lost among the craze of the newly made Gameboy Advance that everyone began buying like mad. It's a great game, one of the best ever made for a Gameboy Color I'd have to say.

AdxAdrenix : Recommend away then as I've mentioned in previous posts i seem to lose track of time perusing the endless pages of games without picking one for ghastly lengths of time!

Shantae is obscure you say?I'll definitely search it in a minute then, as those rare gem games really are worth playing in my eyes.If your interested in any of my recommendations please feel free to ask as i have a near enough full inventory of games i've played and enjoyed in the past on Nintendo to SEGA consoles.
