I've been a Vizzed Staff Reviewer for awhile now and I love making in-depth video game reviews. I really do my best as it, and always try to make an enjoyable, honest review.

However, I have a few things to prepare for, one event being in a few weeks, the other being a few weeks after that event. I've been worrying about finishing my reviews and I've had a list of games to choose from that I'd review each month. I have to do at least 2 2000 word reviews to fulfill my quota, or 4 1000+ word. It was pretty simple, until now.

I've tried playing the games I want to review again, or even looking for new games to play...but I'm just not interested at all. So then I thought, maybe I should review something modern? I wasn't so interested in that either and only added tot he list of reviews I just can't get started on. And when I tried to review the game anyway, I tried writing a few things, but it all felt so wrong and terrible.

I pretty much not only have writer's block, but gamer's block too! I'm unable to enjoy the games because I'm so worried about these other things I have to deal with, course I have a life, but I'm not giving up on being a Vizzed Staff Reviewer either as it's my passion!

I still have two reviews due this month and I hate cutting things short. I really need a way to get rid of this writer's and gamer's block ASAP. If there is anyone who can help, it would be so very appreciated. I'll just call it reviewer's block for short.

Also, one other thing that was bothering me was...should I review a game I can't beat, specifically a fighting game. I did beat it once though, but recently, I just can't get even past half the opponents!

Once again, if anyone can help me, please shed me your knowledge me whatever advice or tips you have. It would be very appreciated.

Simple,I play the game and think about its qaulity, even after I finish it I play it a bit more,it really isn't that hard, also never review a game you haven't finished,it makes you lose all credibility on the review.

Try reviewing things from a  different view point. You review things from somebody who played the game recently, I assume. Maybe take a different stance on how you approach your review. You could from a viewpoint of what the developers intended. You could review it by pointing out all the positives, you could also review it by pointing out all the negatives. Make sure you offer suggestions on how to improve it though. You could write a comparison review, by comparing it to an earlier or later game in the series. You could give it a Pros vs Cons review to break it down clearly and explain why it is a pro or con and what can be done to improve it.

I hope I helped. Good luck.

DARKANINE :
bobq :

Thanks guys. I realized because I wasn't able to beat the fighting game again (I'd beaten it before but after a long time I couldn't) it completely decreased my self-esteem and made me think, if I can't defeat it, I will be completely incorrect to say the game is very difficult when I know for a fact it's just me lacking in skills I used to have.

Also, I would try to review from pros and cons, or developer's view point, but then I'm not making the kind of in depth review I'm normally known to do. My reviews not just explain the battle system and such to the reader, but also entertain and in someway relate to the reader...or that's what I intend it to do.

Though, I have taken both your support to heart and it has encouraged me to try even harder. Thank you.

Jordanv78...just you wait.
