Hello! Here is my review of Pac-Man Party for the Wii. This game was created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pac-Man. This game has always been on my top 5 favorite games ever since I first tried it.
Graphics: 9
This game has excellent graphics, especially compared to other Pac-Man games. All the graphics are very creative, very detailed, and most of them look somewhat realistic. I really like Pac-Man and the ghosts' new 3D design used in this game. However, I never did know why Blinky and Inky have spiral shapes on their heads. Unless it's hair, I have no idea what it is. Other than that, the graphics are pretty much perfect.
Sound: 10
The sound in this game is even more amazing than the graphics in my opinion. There's quite a variety of songs and sound effects to hear. I'm sure almost everybody would lose count if they tried to keep track of how many different songs and sound effects are in this game. It's hard for me to pick a favorite song from this game. All of the songs fit in well with the game and they all sound perfect. All of the sound effects fit in well too and a couple of them actually sound somewhat realistic! The creators of this game did a perfect job in the sound department in my opinion.
Addictiveness: 9
This game has a lot to do and it will probably get addicting to almost anyone who plays it. There are 5 worlds, Story Mode, Party Mode (which you can do multiplayer), Mini Game Battle Mode (which is also multiplayer), lots of mini-games (I don't even know how many!) and 50 rewards that you can earn by completing different tasks in each mode of the game. There are even 3 classic arcade games you can play: Pac-Man, Galaga, and Dig Dug! With that much to do, of course this game will be very addicting, especially for huge Pac-Man fans!
Story: 9
Unlike other Pac-Man games, this Pac-Man game has a storyline to it! Here's how the story goes: Pac-Man gets a secret recipe for cookies and Blinky steals the recipe from him, and Pac-Man must compete against Blinky, the other ghosts, and a few friends they meet along the way to get the recipe back. What a genius idea for a new Pac-Man story! I hope that future Pac-Man games will have new stories to them also.
Depth: 9
Like I mentioned in the addictiveness category, there are many things to do in this game. It will probably take a long time to get all 50 rewards. Quite a few of them are pretty easy, but other rewards are really hard to get and it will take a long time to finally get them.
Difficulty: 8
This game will probably be a little tough when you first play it, but once you get a good understanding of how to play it and you become very good at it, it will be easy to play. Most of the mini games are easy to learn, but a couple of them I'm still not very good at and I've played Pac-Man Party for 3 years (I got it shortly after it was released).
Overall: 9
Like I said in my introduction to the review, this game is one of the games that is on my top 5 list of favorites. This game made 2nd place on the list. I highly recommend you try this game if you haven't already, even if you're not a Pac-Man fan. I guarantee you that if you're good at video games, this game will be lots of fun for you. I hope you enjoyed this review! Be sure to reply! If you think there's anything I should do to make this review better, let me know and I'll see what I can do about it!
