I don't really see why its a big enough deal to make a thread about, but here goes.

Things change. Cities like LA and New Orleans change every single year, and I doubt a bustling castle town would be any different. Plus, Bowser destroys the castle town in a few of the games, so it would definitely need renovations after that.

They keep changing because in some Mario games, Peach's castle ends up getting destroyed as part of Bowser's evil plan. I actually like having Peach's castle different in each game. It's nice to have a little variety in my opinion.

I never really notice it until you mentioned it, but I have to say that with the grahpic changes and switching consoles does have an effect onto the castle, so that's pretty much why the castle changes every game.

Remember the toads saying: 'I'm sorry, your princess is in another castle!'  Yeah, once mario defeats the castle, it's kinda the Princess's castle. That's where she lives. I'm sure mario has a device with all the castles, and a button on each. Once he hears a toad doing his job of irritating him, he presses another button until he hears the princess.  My way of logic.

Well... I think that the company wanted to change the graphics a bit but realized most players didn't like it as well and have been working on improving the graphics more and putting them back to the way they were as I have noticed.
