I've never actually played that game, but I understand it is a hack of Pokémon Ruby.

Have you tried Victory Road? You can battle Pokémon that are Levels 40+.

If you aren't that far in the game, try towns close to their and you may find Pokemon who are at a decent level to battle, and you'll gain great EXP.

indeed... if the emulator doesn't have a speed up button.. you'll have to play the game the way it was intentionally made... i know it sucks... but there's no point playing a game if all you want to do is rush through it.. especially when leveling up is pretty much most of the game play in pokemon
