Cody looks at Ryan "Ill tell you what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna get the heck out of here! I don't know or really care how we got here but I'm sick of it!" Cody kicks the beast in the head as he walks by. Cody continues up the path.

"wh-what !? Cody ! Your just gonna leave us here ?! Umm... actually no I'm out of here !" I run off the trail into the dense forest. When I'm sure I've lost the creature i stop and hide behind a tree, getting down onto buttocks, back against the tree breathing heavily. I close my eyes to try and take it all in. "Barre, what are you doing here ? I need you in Halifax." Shocked by the voice i'm hearing, I look up and see an old woman near her 70's standing about 15 feet away, watching me. Smiling. I ask, "Why do you sound like Sarah ?" In the background I'm hearing white noise softly. "You need to get to Halifax, we're in danger" Now that I'm looking the elderly woman I'm dumbfounded, her voice doesn't match her at all, the voice should be coming from a 13 year old girl, soft, higher sounding. Not what i should be hearing, old cripplying voice of an elder person. The white noise is blaring everything but what the elder woman is saying. I stand up to walk to her almost tripping on fallen branches on the ground, I get about 3 feet away and her body glows yellow, almost spontaneous combustion like she evaporates into a 100 balls of light. Hearing "If i leave this place then all the lights will fade away." The white noise is deafening now, taking over everything around me, I close my eyes hands over my ears hoping that would help. and then nothingness. I'm passed out.

Hours Later:

Barre awakens in the dark woods lying next to a fire. He hears the other three men talking. "Did you see the way that monster evaporated after it was killed?" asked Ryan. "Yeah, it was like it turned to dust" replied John. Barre sits up and notices that he seems to be on a plateau over looking the lower part of the forest, and then the beach that they were originally on. With greater detail, he can see that across the lake it a mountain. Not tall enough for snow, though. "Hey, your up" says Cody looking over at Barre. "What happened to you? We found you passed out against a tree. We picked you up and carried you up the rest of the path. It got too dark so we decided to stop here" Cody continues. "I don't know" replies Barre. He looks up and notices the rain has stopped. The air feels cool with a very small breeze. "So where do you suppose we are?" says Ryan. "I don't know, but wherever we are, I don't like it here" says Cody. "Things just don't seem right. Has anyone noticed that we have been here for hours and haven't even gotten a little bit hungry? Or that our headaches strengthened when that monster came near us?" He explains. Everyone looks at him like they agree. "I want answers!" Yells Cody. "I do too, but keep your voice down, what if another one of those...things hears you and decides to come walking this way. I want to have as less of those interactions then we can. We don't know how many more of those there are." He finishes.

Twenty Minutes Later:

"Did you guys here that?" Asks Barre with some concern. The other three look up with some confusion. "Listen" he says. They all listen for a little bit. "Can you here it?" He asks. All four of them focus their hearing off in the distance. They can hear very faint train whistles. "Maybe we aren't alone in this place" says John. They listen for a bit longer, but begin to hear metal grinding and loud thumping noises along with the whistles. The four men scan the mountains were they think the noise it coming from. It gets louder, and louder. Eventually they see a light in the top of the mountain. It beams out over the top of the mounted. They begin to hear mechanical noises too. Finally, they see a huge metal goliath walk across the top of the mountain with light beams beaming from it's eyes. It walks across the mountain with rage and loud steps. It lets a loud whistle go which shoots steam out the top of it's head. It appears to be at least four stories tall, maybe more. It turns around and walks back down the mountain. The noises begin to grow fainter, until they couldn't here it any longer. "What the heck was that thing" says Cody. "I don't know, but whatever it was looked dangerous" says Barre. "Luckily it was over the lake and not over here. Let's just try to get some sleep." Says John. The four men agree and fall asleep around the fire.

The Next Day:

The four men continue through the path in the woods. They are all armed with sticks this time, ready to take on whatever might be waiting for them. The hike for a good half hour when they come to a clearing in the woods with a large building that appears to be a factory of some sort. The trees grow too thick around them, so their only way to go, is through the factory. Cody runs up and try's the door to the factory "It's no good, it's locked" he says. He looks around for a bit. "Maybe we can try prying the door open with that crowbar" he says pointing to a crowbar sitting next to an empty wooden crate. Just then, a head ache starts to come on, it's grows and grows. They know something it coming, but what?

"Everybody get ready! I think another one of them things are coming!" Cody pops open the door with the crowbar. "Lets hide in here. It has to be safer then out here in the open." 

Ryan hesitates to enter the building, fearing that whatever is coming is inside the building. Or worse, that they'll be trapped if one finds out they're in there. Finally, he decides that it isn't any use to stay outside alone, and enters the building. Splitting up would probably be a mistake anyway.
As he enters, he looks around. Everything is shrouded in darkness, with only a few shafts of light coming through the windows, and the trees manage to filter out most of the light that would seep in even then. The place smells musty, and he could swear that he can feel the dust filling his lungs as he breathes.
"I have night blindness, does anyone have some source of light? Flashlight maybe?" he says softly, trying hard not to cough from all of the dust he's breathing in. As he walks, he kicks something hard. A thousand thoughts of what it could be runs through his head, but he hopes it isn't any of them.
"Boy, this headache kicking in around the beasts...now I know how Spider-man feels when Spidey sense kicks in. It isn't nearly as cool in real life." he says in a weak attempt to lighten the mood.

Standing outside after everyone else goes inside the factory I hear a male voice shout "TAKE THE BOX !" I jump at the shout, scared. I do what the voice says, and I carry the box with me entering the factory. Carrying the box inside the factory I trip over something metal dropping the box and doing a front flip landing on the box. "Shouting voice, that was uncalled for. Why did I even need the box ?!" Cody and Ryan look back hearing me and they just stare at me like I'm a mental and then we all keep walking. Closing my eyes and relying on sound, I hear foot steps in front of me, I just keep following them unknowing who's footsteps they are.

Ryan looks down at the hard thing that he kicked.  He can't see it because it is way too dark, but he decides to pick it up for some luck as to what it might  be.  From feeling the shape in his hands, he guesses that it might be an oil lantern.   He twists the dial, and sure enough, it turns on.  It illuminates a small area around them.  "I thought we were going to be in the dark forever" said Cody to the reaction of the light turning on.  They take a good look around them.  Sure enough, they were in a factory.  Large gears were all around the place.  "I wonder what this factory was used for" says Ryan as he starts walking further into the factory.  He wasn't paying attention when he trips over something soft.  He looks over to what he tripped on.  He then realizes he is staring at a dead mangled body.  Blood was spilled everywhere.  The body then opens it's eyes.  In shock, the four men stumble far enough away to be out of it's reach.  The mangled body takes a large inhale, then speaks.  
"You must listen to me" it says.  Everyone is silent.  "You are in great danger, you must escape."  

"Where are we?" demands Cody.

"This will be hard to hear" replies the body.  "You are neither alive, nor dead.  You are in the realm between.  You were on a train right, yes?  You see, your train had collided with another train which was carrying tons of gasoline.  You four were lucky enough to survive the blast.  Unfortunately, you were knocked into a coma bringing you here."  he explains.  "There is a way out however, you must find the Church in a the village across the lake and through the mountains.  In the church, there is a small pool of water that will have a blue aura around it.  You must jump into there and keep swimming to the bottom.  You will not find the bottom, but you will find your life, and you will wake up".  The four men continue to remain silent.

(OOC:  Everyone may ask the bodies questions, it may be anything you want regarding to him, or what he has said)

 

Cody can't believe what he is hearing. "How do you know all this and why should I even believe you!?!" Cody looks around at the faces of the all the men around him. They all seem to have the same confused look. Waiting on the answer to his question Cody blurts out "I always thought I would die young but like this? No this is not how I'm going out!"

(Ooc: I'm so sorry for my lack of activity recently. I'll try to be more active in the future)

Ryan tries to speak, but with no luck. Who was this? What was this? To actually converse with this thing seems insane. Common sense tugs at every muscle in Ryan's body, telling him to run, but something inside -something that Ryan can't quiet put his finger on - keeps telling him to stay. Finally, he manages to speak something that almost sounds like intelligible words.
"Wh...ho..we..." He stills himself and tries again: "What are those...things that keep chasing us?".

(Ooc: If I am allowed to ask two questions, I would also like to ask why the headaches occour when the things are nearby)
