RP First Post

Hey everyone, I am starting a new Role Play that I am hoping that people will want to join. I do have a couple of rules however but it is just to ensure that everyone has a fun and fair time. Here they are:

- No God Mode (This means that you cannot be invincible. If you die in the RP, that's it, I'm not that cruel however haha. Another part to God Mode is that you cannot control other player's characters. You also may not change the story in any way. You can only control your characters actions, thoughts, speech, etc.)

- You must be a fairly active member. If you do not post within a week then I will have a right to kill you off because of course, you aren't doing anything. There are bypasses to this however. If you are going to be away, don't forget to send me a PM. You can also get around this if you have too many back and fourth posts or if things in the RP are slow (No one is posting)

- Be detailed. Everyone loves it when you give a lot of detail in your posts. It gives everyone a sense as to what your character is like as well as allowing the other characters to interact with your character easily.

- Be fair to the other players as well. Don't be the hero all the time. Allow the other players to take some of the heroes glory as well.

- Favourite this thread. It is always good to know whenever someone has posted and it also makes my job much easier as I don't need to summon every back to the thread every time.

- If you would like to join the RP and it has already started, PM me and I'll see if I can throw you in.

- OOC stands for "Out Of Character" which you can put at the end of your post if you want to say something that is not something your character will say such as suggestions for other characters. It would be much more appreciated if you sent these to me through PM though.

Appearance: 6'2 with black hair that isn't quite long enough to comb, pale skin, and black eyes.
Reason for train ride: Looking for a fresh start.
Bio: Two years ago, Ryan moved to San Diego, looking to settle down with the girl he'd loved for years, but his plans went south, and when the wedding rolled around, he was just there as a groomsman. With her raising a family, he found he had no respectable place left there, so he decided to get as far away from all he knew as he could.
Strength: He's very sharp, and a quick learner when he does run into something he doesn't know.
Weaknesses: Poor eyesight, and he's loyal to a fault, even when he knows his party is in the wrong.
Worst fears: Losing the ones he loves, and he also has an intense fear of heights.

Let's get this going. If anyone would still like to join, feel free to just PM me and I will find a way to fit you into the story.

Intro:


You open your eyes. It feels like you have just woken up from a long deep sleep. Did you feel asleep on the train? No, you can feel a breeze. A warm humid breeze. Perhaps you are dreaming. You let the blurry sight fade away as it is replaced by a crystal clear image. This seems much to clear to be a dream. You find yourself lying down on greyish looking sand. It drops of down into a calm lake which opens up on a cloudy sky in the horizon. It looks as if a storm might be heading your way. You turn your head over to your right. You see a small dirt path leading up a hill into a forest. The trees are tower above you with small waving motions caused by the breeze you felt earlier. You notice something strange about the trees. They are bland and almost colourless like everything else. The dirt, the sand, even the grass all or bland and colourless. You feel yourself start to feel your eyelids get heavy. That doesn't usually happen in dreams. Does it? The sounds of the blowing trees seems so calming. You focus your attention on the noise of your surroundings. You notice something out of place in a setting like this. You can't hear any animals. Where are all the birds or other critters that make noise as they skitter around on the ground? You start to feel yourself pull out of the drowsy feeling. Just a little bit though. You can't seem to move. It's almost like you are paralyzed and that you can't pick your limp body up off the beach. You notice that you have a small head ache. You feel like you have regained your energy. Still a little drowsy however. The head ache gets a little bit stronger. "Why is this dream so detailed" you think to yourself. You look around a bit more. You see two other bodies lying on the beach near you. Suddenly, the nerves kick in. "I'm not on the train, am I?" You think to yourself. "I'm not dreaming. This is real" you suddenly realize. The rustling leaves and the warm breeze don't seem all that calming anymore. You stay there lying on the sand trying to process what had just happened. All you can remember is being on the train, and then, nothing. You just found yourself lying on a sandy floor in unfamiliar territory with two other people who you think you recognize from the train.

Ryan looks around, and drops his head back to the ground. He can't piece the situation together, and frankly, he doesn't really want to, as he's appreciating the break from reality. Suddenly he hears someone shouting and asking where they are. Irritated at the unwelcome call to the real here and now, he struggles to sit up, with no luck. He calls back "I don't know. The last thing I remember, we were riding on a bus. I was listening to some music...the next thing I know, I'm lying here...I know I don't like the looks of this place though".

A few days late to correct this, but double posted here. Sorry.

As you lie there for a bit longer, your mind takes over year body, you remember red, and heat, your are not quite sure why though.  You feel a warm breeze start to pick from the direction of the forest.  It gets stronger, and stronger.  It feels relaxing and warm, but at the same time, it's very eerie.  You see the grayish trees sway towards your direction on the beach.  Then, it stops, you feels your body release as though you can lift yourself back onto your feet.  You take a much better look around this time.  There isn't really anywhere you can go.  Except for the path up into the woods of course.  You get a strange vibe from these woods though.

Appearance: 6 ft, 125 lbs, not muscular, you are unsure that I have hair because of the black diagonally stripped Fedora with the back flipped up and the front contoured, I am wearing a thin almost see through blue zip-up hoodie but not zipped up, my inner shirt is black with a silver flame on the lower center and a faded look around the upper area of the shirt to symbolize smoke rising from the flames. Faded black suit pants and an almost torn apart shoes each are different kinds, one is a neon orange Converse shoe and the other is a light blue sandal with the snap almost breaking off.
Reason for train ride: Wanted by the police
Bio: Having lost my parents to a tragic car accident with a drunken driver when I was 7, I was left with no family, shuffling from foster home to foster home, not being at any of them for more than a month at a time, at a point when I turned 16 I disappeared and found a group Meth cooks, as I was fairly knowledgeable with chemicals I decided to go there and become a cook, and have been there ever since. One day I went to the bar as usual, except this time the place got stormed by the DEA and one of the cooks turned informant to the police because they promised him he'd get off clean. I saw my face on the news, a manhunt and decided to head to Canada via train
Strength: Persuasive and Confidence.
Weakness: Mentally unstable (schizophrenia)
Worst Fear: Hallucinations of Black Shadows taking human form

"Does it occur to you that we still have no idea where we are, and all just magically appeared here? I want to know what happened," John said. He was extremely confused by the man with a Mohawk, he seemed to not even care that John had just appeared there. John noticed three other people too; did the same thing happen to them? Had they all just magically been dumped in the middle of nowhere? He had no idea what he was doing, and wanted answers.

Barre and Cody decided to head up the path leading into the colourless forest.  As Ryan and John watch them head up the hill they get the feeling that they don't want to be left alone in this strange place so they head up along the hill with them.  They begin walking down the path in silence, the air seems to be getting more and more humid, your shirt is sticking to your body.  The air is warm, and the breeze is running through the trees.  About another five minutes of walking, you feel a first bit of rain.  It is only drizzling however.  As you keep walking, you think you start to see shadowy figures running through the dark shadowed part of the forests.  You think hear twig snapping noises in the distance.  Maybe you are just going crazy... Let's hope not.  Just then, you see a figure, about 5'4", run across the path about 20 feet ahead of you.  Covered by the shadows, you have no idea what it is. However, it was shaped like a human.  Maybe a woman.  Maybe even a very skinny man.  You feel your headache that you had down on the beach getting stronger, your head is pounding.  You try to look for the figure.  It's gone back into the trees.  The head ache does not go away.  It lingers in you, like it's feeding off your soul.  You know you are not alone in these woods.  You just don't know where the "others" have gone.

Cody keeps walking. He thinks to himself "My head is killing me!" He keeps looking around. It seems like the shadows are moving all around them. Cody yells out at the shadows or nothing at all for all he knows "I don't know whats going on here but I ain't happy!" He looks back at the people he is walking with "Does any one else feel like there head is gonna explode?" He really doesn't need an answer, he can see the pain on there faces. "Well lets keep going, with any luck we will be out of here in no time."

Ryan covers his ears at the sound of Cody yelling at the shadows. He can't really blame him, but it certainly didn't help his headache any.
He can't help but feel like someone -or something - is toying with them, like a cat plays with a wounded mouse that it just pierced with it's razor sharp claws, right before it deals that final chomp. Hopefully he's just paranoid. It couldn't really be anything unnatural...could it? He trudges on in silence, trying to hide how terrified he is. It feels like the trees are slowly closing in around them. Like the limbs are wanting to reach down and strangle the life out of their bodies. He could swear he heard the shadows whispering something incomprehensible, as they seemed to lap at their feet, slowly consuming the pathway. Even the winds in this place are ominous! Ryan begins to fear that he'll lose his mind if something doesn't give soon.

As you walk,  your head ache keeps lingering.  It has seemed to calm down a bit,  but you can still feel it.  Just as you think it is about to sub side, you feel a great feeling of dizziness, then, as you come to your senses, but still a little bit disoriented, you see a shadowy figure, the same one you saw before, skipping down the forest path ahead of you.  It's coming right for you!  As the blurriness of your vision goes away and you can see a clear picture, you see a human like, monstrosity.  It's size makes it look female, but it's qualities make you think otherwise.  It is wearing a tattered red shirt, with blood stained black pants.  It has black hair that looks greasy and blood stained.  It's face however, is what startles you the most.  It's face is ripped and torn to the point of not even looking like a face.  There are stitches all over, and some bloody punctures all over.  Just as you finally realize that this thing is going to attack, it lets out a horrifying shriek, as if it was in immense pain of some sort.  It stops galloping and breaks into a fast jog.  As the monster gets closer, you realize it has razor sharp nails.  Nails that look like they can cut through skin like nothing.  It has it's eyes on Cody, and is heading right for him.  With it's claw like nails, it's ready to attack.

Cody thinks fast and throws his fur jacket over its head. "I don't know what you are but your messing with the wrong man!" Cody hits it in the head with all of is power. He thinks to himself "I don't know if I should try to fight or just run." The beast throws the dirty and some what smelly jacket back at Cody. 

Seeing a moment of vulnerability while the creature is down, Ryan, not sure what else to do, delivers his best "homerun" kick, using the creatures head as a kickball, causing it to snap completely to one side. He hears a crack, and feels the side of it's head cave a little, yet surprisingly it manages to rise to it's feet again. But at least it let Barre go. "Oh great. Now what do we do?" Ryan wonders aloud.
