Ah the shooters we love them, and play the heck out of them.Of course there was many great shooters,The main selling point of shooters back then, and now was they were fun great ,and challenging. A good example of a great shooter is this 1 right here for the Super Nintendo: Super Smash T.V,and You can also play the Sega Genesis version and arcade 1 on this site, but anyways I'm gonna mainly focus on the Super Nintendo version now. The snes version is great 1 especially if you enjoyed the original arcade game. This game would later also have a squeal called Total Carnage which was also good on the snes. How great can possibly Super Smash T.V be? Find out in this review of it. Plot and storyline. The storyline can be seen after a few seconds has passed the title screen, but anyways it starts out saying,The year is 1999 Television has adapted to the more violent nature of man. The most popular form of television remains the game show. One show in particular that has dominated the ratings that show is Smash T.V. The most violent game show of all time. Be prepared. The future is now. You are the next lucky contestant! That means you,and perhaps a friend is to compete against each other to be the more wealthier man the objective/goal is to collect money, and prizes, while blasting you're fury destructive ammo at the crazy enemies, and bosses getting ready to slaughter you in about 15 seconds or less depending on how skilled you are at this game. and at the end of this game you get you're total amount of money from the prizes collected"aka" you're total highscore. in order to finish this game you need to first Make sure mutoid man is totally dead. 2 make scarface have no eyeballs "aka"making him blind. 3 make cobros totally fangless"aka leaving them without teeth, then after that you have to destory Evil m.C which is basically just a harder version of mutoid man,but not that much harder. Anyways that's the plot and storyline of Super Smash T.V I'll rate it a 7 Graphics: Really taking a look at the 3 versions of Smash T.V. Like a lot of other games that were both on genesis and snes. The Super Nintendo version Is graphically superior,as the main difference is the Genesis version looks more like a graphical update of the nes version of Smash T.V. Where the Super Nintendo version Looks more or nonetheless the Arcade version. In other words The snes version looks more atheunic to it's arcade counterpart, and looks like it almost could be an exact duplicate of the arcade version too. The real only difference I spotted between the snes version and the arcade version of Smash T.V in graphics is in the snes version is some of the background and bosses are a bit more flattended and streched out,but other besides that they look graphically the same. so that can already tell you how great this version looks. (sprites: All glorious and soon to be wealthy contestants are here they look good and the images are just completely almost the same, which is a good thing for a snes game. the characters have a good amount of detail and look very good on the 16 bit system. (animation: compared to the genesis version the snes version has more frames during the character speech like good luck you'll need it,and the animation is not bad at all if I say so myself. The animation really looks smooth great and flows along with the characteristics neatly and nicely. (Stages: Look great here as everything is bright colorful and accurate to the original arcade version. With many chains of detail during the stages which are basically locked arenas. I really like how bad they look and I mean bad in a good way. this game looks really great here. Graphics rating 10 Sound : good sound vairety when compared to the arcade version, because you have most of you're basic sound effects. When shooting blasting the junk out of you're enemies and the classic ugh with you're character dieing and the crows aww in disappointment That sound effect and the others make for some really good times, when playing with friends and others etc. (Soundtrack. The soundtrack actually is much better then the arcade version, and the reason why is because the songs just sound so much more killer and beaten up. many themes from the arcade version were changed, but I would say it's a change for the better. The cobros stage would be an example where it was all a jungle like theme, Now it's more like you're in a jungle getting away from a huge dinosuar or something at least from what theme feels like. As for the rest of the themes some are rather just missing or incorrectly placed Such as The winning/Evil M.c theme. The themes overall sound pretty good and are a great arranged version of the themes the arcade version used. Even the beginning theme where it was all dark and had great bass. It now has more of a game show feel which works better for this game. Sound rating 10 out of 10 Addictiveness. Known for its extremely hard difficulty and fun challenge with incredible sounds Super Smash T.V makes a great fun and addicting shooter In my opinion it's more addicting to me then something like contra. I mean the overall difficulty pushes You to some frustration here and there, but that's what makes the game add to its charm and overall reason the game is addicting. Addictiveness rating 8 Depth: Now I may have said Super Smash T.V Is an addicting shooter, but its definitely a shooter that won't really be long. Because in depth yea, this game is pretty weak in depth. Now the game for me takes like generally a few hours to beat. I mean each course is filled with enemies and bosses to take down And that's a good thing because the bosses are solid medium like difficult as for taking on like 50 enemies at once yeah that may take a little bit and that's pretty hard to do.but the game in depth is only four levels long. Which can be beaten with a good amount of skill. Depth rating 6 Difficulty I've mentioned how hard it can be taking on those bosses and enemies at the depth section. So that's honestly the main challenge and that is quite hard, because you don't just take on like 1 bracket of 50 enemies. No You take on like maybe 5 or 10 depending on which level you are at. And beware the number of enemies will increase during time, because the game punishes you quite a lot so that may get frustrating at some points. Difficulty rating I feel it deserves at least an 8 because the beginning is not too harsh, but it will punish You much more often at the later on stages. Overall:When coming down to Something like Smash T.V,and others you have a heck of a challenge to go through, but in the end it's generally fun and worth a try. as for the snes version it will fit you're needs 100 percent especially if you like the original arcade game. Overall rating 8.9 Plot and storyline.
