Good afternoon folks (or morning or evening pending where you live). I am proud to say that I am a college graduate today!!
If anyone has read my "Shot in the Foot" thread a while back ago, you would know that I was under the 2.5 mandatory transfer requirement for me to transfer to a 4 year school (I was at a 2.45). This semester I was taking 3 law courses in a row (like literally all 3 of my law courses were in a row) and some other courses, so the odds of me getting at least a 2.65 (since that would give me a 2.5 to meet the mandatory GPA requirement).
So after a lot of hard work, studying (actually not true, I barely studied at all for my courses...even the law ones...which I most likely should have done), and taking a little break from Vizzed; here are my results...
Procedure Criminal Law: B (was an A at midterm...just failed 1 test).
Substantive Criminal Law: B (was a B at midterm)
Children and the Law: B (was an A...just didn't do a certain project).
American History 1: A (There was no way I could have gotten a B, I pretty much Aced every test and project)
American History 2: B (I'll tell y'all about this course).
Comparative Religion: A (Had a C at midterm, just Aced my project, last tests, and final).
GPA for Semester: 3.33
GPA for Entire College: 2.70 <- THIS IS THE BIG IMPORTANT NUMBER.
A little bit about the History 2 course. THIS COURSE WAS A PAIN IN THE @$$. I literally had to write essays for every test I took, not to mention write 6 IMPORTANT facts about the subject on the test. And when it came to the final, I had to write an essay ON MY OWN TIME and do 6 IMPORTANT facts on 20 different subjects for my final. While this doesn't seem that bad, the professor didn't bother to mention what he wanted by IMPORTANT. For example when I wrote down for ACLU that they defended the Nazi's right to protest in a heavily Jewish populated area, he didn't consider that Important (I thought that was an important fact as not my groups would defend Nazis), so I only got half credit. So when I figured that I had a realistic shot at an A, I ended up getting a B. That kind of ticked me off a bit, but what can I do; at least I got a B.
I should also mention that the B's in most of my courses (besides the B in History 2), are most likely B+, but the college I went to doesn't believe in + or -, so I kind of lose some GPA there.
But enough of my ranting, I managed to pass all my courses with A's and B's and I'm over the mandatory GPA for me to transfer to another college...
So happy.
