I have been searching all day for a way to mute Nintendo 64 games on this site. I continually am redirected back to the same post over and over and over again. I have tried opening my volume mixer and muting firefox, it does not work. I have also tried downloading a add-on for muting firefox, and for some reason, when the game window opens the mute icon is no where to be seen.

Does anyone know of any way to mute a specific firefox pop up page That's what I assume the game pops up in.

TL;DR Help me mute 1964 rgr plugin games, and this vvvvv does not work.

There is a solution if you have either Windows Vista or Windows 7. Earlier versions of Windows (including Windows XP) can not mute the game alone.

To mute the game, start by making sure it is opened in a separate window. Right click on the little speaker icon in the bottom right corner of your computer screen, then click "Open Volume Mixer." You should see a small box with a list of all the programs you are running. Your browser should appear at least twice. Mute one of them, then check if your game has sound. If it does, just go back and unmute the first one, then mute the other one.

I copy pasted this just in case anyone wanted to say, dude duh, sticky thread. do this ^^^^^. NO I have. Doesn't work. Muting firefox still leaves loud banjo kazooie playing over my plinkett review.

I'm using windows 7 32 bit. and at this point I have youtube open in chrome, and vizzed in firefox.

i figured it out.  you need to have youtube open in firefox, and vizzed open in chrome. then the sticky mute thread works perfectly ^^
