I can't figure out how to make it to Cinnabar island.  I tried surfing towards it from both directions.  On the Pallet Town side of the island the water is blocked off by fencing.  And on the Fuchsia city side I can't find my way past Seafoam Islands.  Can someone help me make it to Cinnabar I don't want all the time I put in to be for nothing.

You must get through Seafoam Islands. Have you found the Strength HM yet? With that, you can move around the boulders in Seafoam Islands. You push the boulders through the holes in the cave, which will make them fall into the water on the bottom floor of the cave. This will stop the strong current, and you will then be able to surf the cave water without being carried off.

Unlike the original versions, just any drink from the vending machines in the PokeMart in Celadon don't work. Go to the old woman in the building near the PokeCenter, and she will give you tea. That is the drink you have to give to the guards.
