I would like to add personal annoyance I've noticed in many reviews.

If you start your paragraph by showing how much you rate a given metrics, you don't need to conclude your paragraph with "For all these reasons, I give graphics X/Y". It doesn't bring anything to the review.

Also, when there is no story to the game no need to right a full paragraph about it. This is worse than the word fillers to introduce each paragraphs (Graphics: X/Y I believe that, in my opinion, the graphics were...). Unless, like Zanderlex' review of Flappy Birds, the game is so hollow that there are no definite goals in the game.

I do have something to add to this advice. It is something people rarely acknowledge or think about.

My quick and dirty rule is that I do not use the same word twice in a sentence if I can help it.

Think about it. It messes up the rhythm and sounds stupid when spoken out loud. You want to sound smart, right?

I picked that one up very early in my schooling. Nobody taught it to me.
