Pokémon light platinum, or Pokémon shiny gold x or Pokémon expert emerald would be an excellent start (hack wise), can you tell me do you want a harder challenge or easier challenge because the games I just mentioned are harder than normal Pokémon games.

Marcus is right, you should try Pokemon Light Platinum or shiny gold x. Those are some of the best.

More RPG based? I don't think it gets more RPG than Pokemon. If you have never played then it is safe to start on any game you want, but if you want to not get bewildered by the sheer quantity, then you will want to go for Red/Blue and Gold/Silver.

Tails the Fox : I respect your opinion, but I don't see much of an rpg myself at all. You do the same thing over and over again leveling up your Pokémon, while using items here and there. That's why I said what I did. Thanks for the info though, everything counts to me

Light Platinum is great, but if your looking for something with a challenge and interesting plot, Snakewoods pretty cool. A zombie apocalypse takes over the region, and you are sent to look for your sibling and his girlfriend, who have gone off to try and stop it all, as he's the pokemon champion. You uncover many twists and turns along the way, and its really a great play, despite what some might say. The concepts really cool, and I found it to be really interesting.
