How often do you get... denied by somebody you are trying to talk to and go out with? For me, it happens a lot, even though I am " a really nice guy"

thing1 : I don't really try that often, so I don't get denied for that sort of thing. In fact, I'm usually the one doing the denying, but it's not because I'm anything special or anything. It's more like the girls who are interested in me aren't exactly my type, because I'm a really nice guy and a lot of those girls are looking for nice guys... lol. And sometimes they misconstrue my niceness as a desire or willingness to date them, but I'm pretty good at getting out of situations like that.

Before, though, I was all about wanting a girlfriend, and it seemed like they could... "smell" that desperation. I think the best thing you can do is to stop caring about dating at this point. The right girl will come your way eventually, but if you're scoping out women like a hawk, it's a lot more difficult to find a girl that's suited for you. And when I say "stop caring," I literally mean "stop caring." Don't "fake it till you make it." Just don't worry about it, and it'll eventually come to you. That's pretty much the best thing I can say to you. It definitely helps you from being hurt, and more importantly, it actually makes you more desirable, for whatever reason.

yeah, I found the same thing that pray75 is mentioning. The harder you try the worse you seem to girls. The less pressure/emphasis you put on getting a girlfriend the more likely you are to actually get one. I know it seems backwards but it has worked for me at least twice

That theory does explain why people in relationships seem to be more attractive. They stop looking for a partner and are more relaxed/happy etc.

Not exactly. Obviously there are going to be girls you are interested in but you need to not focus on them too much. Just go out and have fun and learn to be yourself. A girl will be more attracted to your self-confidence and happiness than she will be to any pick-up lines or "moves".
