New Server Software used for N64 Netplay on United States L2 server.

Before we were using Kaillera 0.86 but now we're using Emulinker-Kaillera 1.0.

It's suppose to be better but I tested it out and I still faced desync issues. If others have a better experience with N64 netplay sessions after this update, please let me know.

It's best to have something tested on multiple servers, because results on one server may not be as good as results on another, and it gives a wider range of locations for people to try it on.

sonikku : You can actually have both kaillera servers running as long as they're using different ports (which they are), so if you update to the newest, all I'd basically do in my PHP script is make it so that when someone uses your server, it uses a different port.

Since that's the case, I'll start using the updated server, but keep both running until there's an official update made. That way if people report the new server isn't good, you could just switch what port the user tries to connect to and you wouldn't need to notify me; I'd simply see the change through which of the servers people are connecting to.

I basically took everything out of the emulinker folder and put it in the VizzedNetplayServerSetup folder instead of putting the emulinker folder in there, and I ran the .bat file that was in there. Davideo7 : the games I have played have mostly been genesis and nes games on netplay... they seem to be working fine no real lag happening from what I can tell so far.  I have however played mario kart 64 a few sessions with bob the syncing has definately increased while playing that game... also managed to play 3p mario kart 64 with bobq and thing1 seemed to work great with no lag for me and was in sync . so from all that I can tell its definately a improvement from the last version vizzed was using for netplay... hope this helps!

Davideo7 : Tested with Kitoko. He was able to connect to me, so I can confirm it's working.

Though unlike the old version, I don't get notices on who connects to the server. Was nice to see if someone was having problems so I could tell them what the server told me happened to their connection if the need arose.

At first N64 games were very slow and choppy, but now they run much smoother. I was wondering why all of a sudden it was working so much better.

So I may have figured it out.

I think the Kaillera server might throw out any player inputs for the first few seconds of netplay, as a lot of the times I tried to play Star Fox 64 with someone, my opponent somehow wound up in training mode while I'm waiting on the handicap screen. So I took advantage of the "moving the 64" easter egg to use it as a synchronization test. I asked him to tell me when he saw the 64 moving, he confirmed, and from that point on, there was no loss of user input, no desync, and my opponent confirmed I killed him in all three matches we played. Though I was only able to test this through U.S. L2, mainly to see if the issues we were having were because of my own server (and they weren't; we got them on U.S. L2 as well). I've yet to play a match on my own server or with more than two users connected including myself.

Homing bombs in Star Fox 64 are just too OP. XD
