Personally, I think FF8 is the best FF ever. I t beats out all the others for story and looks. Plus the junction system kicks some serious cahoonies, as long as you spend the time it takes to learn it. I jess don't think that the new ones got it at all. Theyre all graphix no substance.

Im glad to here that someone else's favorite FF is 8. : ) To give you a better idea of the new final fantasys I will explain to you how the new ones are supposed to be. If you are a fan of final fantasy tactics story (which i truely am) and music you will especially like FF12 because the character development, the story and the music are all very similar to that of Final Fantasy Tactics. This is essentially because it is mainly the same team that created it. I can hardly wait to fully play this game. As for Dirge of Cerberus, I wouldn't waste my time. I may play this game more for "religious" reasons if you will, only because it says Final Fantasy in the title (which is the only reason why i chose to play through FFX-2). But Vincent is a far cry from Lara Croft, and they should never intertwine these very different genres. Although this could very possibly help to maintain the future of Final Fantasy titles to come. We'll see. . .

Couldn't have said it better. Square has lost most of what made the older FFs so good. Personally I must say I'm not a fan of FF8, but I guess it's just not my type of FF. My favourites are 6 and 7.
