I ve played smash bros brawl melee and the n64 1 But 1 thing i always questioned Dont you think there are too many characters that has the same move sets. I mean There are some Serious neat characters that could always have their own Move set but end up being a copy cat Like gannondorf for example He could have the lighting strike he had in ocarnia of time . I just feel as if the Series is getting a bit too much copycatted

yeah there is. Fox, Falco and Wolf all have the same move set, with minor difference. And mario and Luigi are kind of the same. Don't forget Link and Toon Link.

FunnyFurret : I feel like Luigi is different enough to be worth playing. However, I completely agree with your opinion on Fox, Falco and Wolf. And also with Toon Link, who makes Link obsolete.

I believe the possible reasons for the lazy move sets is everything else. The sheer amount of content in the games is just incredible, and this could also be the reason for the poor, unresponsive online play. Another possible reason for the lazy movesets was they wanted them to have more, but just couldn't because there was not enough space on the disc after they had put all the content on.

Look at it from Nintendo perspective. The fans wouldn't buy the games if there wasn't a large increase in characters, and the gamecubes hardware wasn't capable of much. It made sense to save data and keep the fans satisfied. Who knows what would have been left out if we had to put in more? Fox and Falco had the same move set, but they are EXTREMELY different from each other.

On an unrelated note, why does it matter?

FunnyFurret :
There is a good thing about Fox, Falco and Wolf however.
Each have a different power and speed " stat " making them all to be used differently.
For example player A may like speed whilst player B may like a mix of the two which I feel is perfectly done with the trio.

SuperCrash64 : .....Did you read my post? Did I ever say there should be a low number of characters? My post was why there weren't characters with that. You took it as a personal misguided flame. I was talking about the move sets.

ender44 : ok  I aplogize for that but There are a lot of characters that i think in the series that have a lot of potienal from their past games and  can deserve their own move set.  Star wolf  Falco  could have at least a different smash then rather just a re color of star foxes . Gannondorf Could have A lighting Strike For 1 of his moves like he did as a boss in ocarnia of time I, m just saying Those characters could at least have some different moves then Rather their move set being a stronger dupe of a character

SuperCrash64 :
And did you even read my post? xD
I said that because of them having the same move sets but different speeds it makes each of them suited to a different style player.
