Arthropod Assassin: A Fight for World Peace

   There are some people who say that there is a secret organization in the military that does strange experiments on animals and people to try and rid the world of evil; by any means necessary. People also say the secret organization knows things that ordinary citizens do not; like a real cure for cancer or the confirmation that aliens exist. Well, this group does exist. They are called The League of Shadows and they do take part in mutations of animals to suit their purposes. If, however, during a mission a member fails to deliver or do their assigned task; then they are at risk for a mutation. Most specimens die, but occasionally there are a few individuals who are strong enough to survive and become a better League of Shadows member. Now the mission is to find three strong enough animals that will become ‘Spy Flies’ to spy on the enemies of The League to make the world a safer place. Wolves are often used, as well as bats and messenger rats, but this time the top member of a squadron of members wants a mutation of three different arthropod members to create a real Spy Fly. The leader of this squadron was mutated once before when he failed mission in his first year as a lowly foot soldier. On the night of a full moon with the light of the moon strengthening the transformation, the leader of his squadron mixed his DNA with a wolf’s thus turning him into a werewolf. It made him stronger, faster, and more intelligent than a normal human could ever hope to be. As time went on, he became able to control the wolf inside him and can now change freely whenever he wants. He sent out three of his foot soldiers to collect a wasp, a scorpion, and a black widow spider. Everyone calls the squadron leader ‘The Hunter’ because of his ruthlessness in tracking and silencing his prey. No doubt thanks to his wolf powers. He became The Hunter by working his way up and eventually had kill his own pack leader as his final conquest towards power. Now he makes sure he won’t lose the challenge of his lesser men by using tactics they have never seen before to hush them quickly, before they even see it coming. That’s what you get for challenging your leader. Two weeks later the mutation takes place. Upon creation of the Spy Fly a new habitat was also born. In the middle of the Saharan Desert, opened a portal that only real Spy Flies could see. It is called Paradise, a desert oasis. Spy Flies may choose to bring people to this place if there’s a special connection between human and Spy Fly. It is the only place to escape to when the end of time finally comes. When the foot soldiers returned, the mutation process finally started. Held captive in three jars, were two wasps, scorpions, and black widow spiders. The Hunter grinned a savage smile.

“Let the games begin.” He said. The League members extracted DNA from all of them save the male and female wasps. Into the male wasp went the DNA of the scorpion and spider. Same treatment for the female wasp. After that, they went into the nuclear reactor where the moon’s power would wash over them and change the DNA makeup forever. A few minutes later, the doors to the reactor opened with a whoosh. Inside the jars now were two creatures a little bigger than a normal wasp. Their abdomens sloped upward and instead of ending with a small stinger; the wasps now possessed scorpion tails equipped with large and extremely sharp stingers with equally deadly poison. Their colors have turned from black and yellow to black and red with a gold hour glass marking on their thorax. Their mouths also had vicious looking mandibles and the wasps can now also shoot web from their mouths. And they were alive, the first specimens to live for a long time. The rest of the arthropods were kept alive to use for later mutations.

“At long last, gentlemen. I give you the Spy Fly!” roared The Hunter. The Spy Flies were sent out to rid the world of evil. Anyone who poses a threat to this goal were either put under arrest by the League of Shadows or silenced entirely by them or their Spy Flies. At this the Spy Flies excel thanks to their newly acquired abilities and body parts. Between missions the original pair mated and made more Spy Flies since one pair was unlikely to rid anything of evil let alone the entire world. Their children are also able to distinguish their kin so therefore that prevents any Spy Fly from messing up the true blood line by committing incest. That said, the blood lines can only be muddied through the breeding of a Spy Fly and a normal wasp. All the parts and colors obtained from the mutation are dominant in the gene pools so the majority of all eggs laid will be Spy Flies, but they have to be registered before they can become assassins.   To take down the evil that plagues the world, the flies had to be quiet, silent stalkers and they used their superior tracking skills to track the specific target and then tie them up with silk and leave them for The League of Shadows to finish him or inject the lethal poison directly into the life pumping artery in the human’s neck. After a few years of using Spy Fly technique as assassins =, the world was finally at peace and the Spy Flies took to Paradise waiting to be called upon by The Hunter and his Pack again in the future. The problem of world peace was finally solved by a little ingenuity, the underestimation of a creature that is smaller than oneself, and some very important, and not so nice arthropods.
