For about 8 or 9 months now, I have been having random on and off stomach pains. Sometimes I would go a month without having it, but just a week I had them once every few hours, but after like 3 days it stopped completely. Should I be concerned about this, or is it just like growing pains or something...

Is your pain specifically in the stomach region or somewhere in the abdominal area? Also, is it difficult to move when having these pains?

I have never heard of growing pains effecting the stomach before.
In cases of growing pains, I only know it to attack the joints, knees, elbows and so on.

I'm not really sure what this problem might be, if you could provide more details about it?
Maybe then I might be able to give you more of an idea what it might be (if I know anything)
It might be a good idea to have a Dr check you over, just to be safe.

Stomach pains have a wide variation of causes. In order to really get a thought of what is happening more details are needed. Such as main area on stomach, symptoms, and possible reasons for starting this. But yeah, as he said, a Docc will give you the best info

bearaholic : It is more in the abdominal reigion. It usually lasts for about 15-30 seconds, it makes it somewhat painful to move, and it is kind of like having squeeze your stomach or something. It is like some sort of burning sensation too. It usually doesn't happen out and about either, it is mostly when I'm using the computer, or in class or something.

thenoobtester : I see, where exactly does it hurt? On the upper abdomen? The lower part? It would be more helpful if you could describe exactly where the pain is occurring; lower-right of the abdomen, in the middle of the abdomen, etc. And it seems that you get the pains when you sit down. It kind of sounds like the pressure from sitting down is trapping gas into your intestines, causing the pain. However, that's only an assumption.

You could always go to a doctor, like the above posters have said. A doctor would give you a definite diagnosis on what's causing your pain.

thenoobtester : How much water do you drink and how much exercise do you get daily? Does it get any better or worse with certain types or food, like dairy specifically? And if you don't mind answering this question, how many time do you have bowel movements in a day? I have a couple idea of what might be going on but this will help narrow it down.

mikez913 : I usually get around an hour of exercise a day, I don't really notice anything with different foods, and I go "number 2" like once a day or something. I am going to a doctors appointment in 2 days, so hopefully I will figure something out.

Its a stomach ache. You are more than likely just blowing things WAY out of proportion. Everyone gets a stomach ache every once in a while, just don't eat too much junk food.

thenoobtester : It's good you're going to see a doc, just to be safe. Most patients I see around your age tend to be from a diffuse, general cramping sensation, most commonly from recurrent abdominal pain, if you want to look that term up. "Recurrent abdominal pain" is pretty common in kids, and it presents in the way you're describing. It's not serious at all and you tend to grow out of it. There's a ton of other possibilities, ranging from minor things like viruses and food poisoning to inflammatory bowel disease or diverticular disease or appendicitis. Since you don't have pain at a specific spot or specific triggers, it doesn't sound like it's anything acute or serious. Make sure you stay active and be sure to drink a bunch of water. Hope everything works out.

thenoobtester : No problem buddy. I'm nearing the end of medical school fairly soon so I'm used to seeing this sort of thing all the time. Seeing the doc is always the best thing to do, but if you do have a little question that pops up here or there, I'd be glad to answer what I could.
