8429 : Well, it's pretty straight forward. After the file is saved on your computer. Drag and drop it into your Freemake window. Make sure the video is highlighted in the window, then select the file format you want to change it to at the bottom (Usually .avi)

Then you have options to change the format or the quality as well as the file name. You can either change these or leave them the same. Then click convert and wait till it's finished.

That's basically all you need to do to upload them to YouTube. There are also editing tools and other options in Freemake once you get used to it.

I assume that if you are getting an error like that when trying to move a file into freemake, then the file was not saved correctly. You need to record the video then STOP the recording. Maybe you still have it recording? Also make sure you are selecting the correct file.

If dragging and dropping is proving troublesome for you, you could always select "File" then "add video" or the +Video icon inside of freemake.
