Well, I did have to use gamefaqs to get there. I understand the idea, and its not crazy. Though I would have preferred to be able to choose the path without having to fly though all of the arches. Second of all, it kind of surprises me that I haven't flown through all of them before.

You also have to have Falco alive so he can show you the way through the waterfall.

I forget if it was an extra bomb or a laser upgrade/wing repair, though. It certainly wasn't an alternate path.
