an argument broke out at school last week of is piccolo  good bad or doiuble(both) i think both but what does everyone on Viz think and if u don't know this is piccolo

Besides when he was bad in Dragon Ball he is good overall. 

I feel he was good, because when he took Gohan to be trained to save Earth he didn't sound selfish. Also, he sacrificed himself for Gohan's  safety!

Over all I want to say he was good.

He may have started off a little rough around the edges, but in time he came to be a vital part of the Z fighters team.

Besides from that rough patch, he has always given his all and sacrificed himself time and time again for his friends, and for the earth as a whole.

I don't know why your school would even get into a debate over this. If they watched the series and not just the beginning, this is not a gray area. He started as evil. He was the negative half of the original Namek that came to Earth. but he became good. Look at his track record after Raditz came to Earth. Piccolo kept a careful eye over Gohan as he lived on his own. He jumped in front of Nappa's blast, killing himself, to save the life a kid. He befriended the group of people he was born hating. He spent his life devoting himself to helping protect the Earth (and the Universe for that matter) from every threat that came. He fused with someone he hated in hopes of saving the Earth from killer androids. When Gohan and Cell were locked in an energy wave reverse tug-o-war, Piccolo was the one who charged in alone (though the others joined soon after) to be there for Gohan. Even though he knew he wasn't strong enough to even remotely help Gohan, he charged in because he "refused to let Gohan die alone out there". I don't care how harsh he can be. If your school friends don't think that is a truly pure of heart character, they definitely need to rethink what it means to be good and bad.

I think that Piccalo is good. He is kind of bad but not enough to be both.

Well he did split into bad piccolo after splitting from Kami and then spit out an egg which became Piccolo Jr, the one in the picture I mean in the beginning of the series he was bad-ish and everyone else was afraid of him but when they first faced Raditz (Goku's saiyan brother) and afterward from that point he kind of became a very trusted ally of the Z fighters and he is willing to fight with Goku and the Z fighters side by side to defeat an enemy. I really think Piccolo because he is unique, he became very strong after he fused with Nail and Kami, and he is also very good in battle as well whereas Goku is more sloppy and gives his opponent opportunities to strike. Piccolo is my favorite Dragon Ball Z character because of his personality, his great moves and his intelligence in battle. I think he may have started out bad, but he eventually becomes an ally to the Z fighters and is always ready to fight and protect Gohan whenever is necessary like in the Saiyan Saga he shielded Gohan from Nappa when he was going to blast Gohan and then Piccolo came in between and sacrificed himself to save him until lame Goku showed up a 1,000 years later.
