I have slacked big time since I had my daughter in September but leading up to that my winter/fall routine was as follows.

M-F Swim for 45 minutes in the morning.
M Chest
T Back
W Arms
R Legs
F Shoulders

Weekends are reserved for 12oz curls

During Spring and Summer I do abs MWF and Mountain bike 25-50 miles on Saturday and Sunday. I don't lift with my legs on Thursday and combine chest and shoulders to cut lifting to 3 days a week so I don't over do it. I also do some road work a couple days a week in place of swimming. I have lost about 15 LBS of muscle over the past 8 mos and feel like crap since I started slacking. Staying to a routine is a HUGE mental game. You have to get excited about everyday. Once you lose the enthusiasm for the workout you're done. I did the worst possible thing that could set me back even more. I went from a once in a great while smoker to a daily smoker. Time to quit the smoke, get back on the horse and get into beach shape. HOOOOORAH!

I tried to get into the habit of working out, but I became a slacker in the last few weeks.    Maybe you could keep up with your progress in my fitness accountability thread.  We could help encourage you, and you could help encourage us!  Though it sounds like you'd be the one working while the rest of us slacked.  LOL

I'm having trouble getting back into the routine, and I've gained a few pounds because of it.

So what's a 12oz curl?

Prone plank and hold it for a minute. Curl ups for 2 minutes. Push ups for 3 minutes, pull ups for 1 minute and a requirement of 50 push ups during the 3 minute period of push ups. So I work hard. I don't eat healthy, but I exercise so much.

Singelli : Sounds good. I will use your thread. I BADLY need some additional motivation. And I could for sure help motivate! I used to be in great shape I just got into a real big funk since September and I am paying the price now. Like I was saying earlier in the thread its mostly mental. Getting started is the hardest part. Once you see the results it becomes easier and easier each day. The biggest enemy you have when working out is excuses. It is so much easier to find a reason not to do it  than it is buckling down and getting the job done.

And BTW: 12oz curl is drinking a beer. LOL

mgriffith27 : Since you are in need of motivation if you play Call of Duty then in the pregame lobby, do as many push ups as you can before the match starts, and if you lose do 5 more push ups next time in the pregame lobby.

mgriffith27 : oh... haha... how embarrassing!  *tries to hide the blush in her cheeks* The sad thing is that I've heard that before, and simply forgot what it referred to!

By the way, my thread is called "Fitness Accountability" and it's in the health and fitness forum.  You should be able to find it pretty easily, but if you can't, let me know and I'll just link it.  I simply feel lazy at the moment and I'm trying to cook dinner.

BluemageKyle : The pushups I can do. The first person shooters.... Not so much. I am always that guy who gets trapped in the corner shooting at the sky. I would be doing pushups til my arms fell off. LOL

Instead of doing a split like yours and doing a body section for each day, just do powerlifting routines. Have two workouts. Workout A is Squat, Bench Press, and Barbell Row. Workout B is Squat, Overhead Press, and Deadlift. Work on your form with just a bar. On every lift besides deadlift do a 5 set of 5 reps scheme. On set 1 do 60% of your working weight. On set 2 do 80%. On sets 3-5 do 100% of your working weight. On deadlifts, you'll only do 1 set of100% working weight. When you can get 5 reps for all sets, move up 5 pounds on that lift, 10 pounds for deadlift. Do a Monday, Wednesday, Friday split. Week one is ABA and week two is BAB. Keep switching like that. Do like 30 minutes of steady state cardio on Monday through Friday. Eat good too. That's the most important part. You'll get jacked and get abs, and you won't ever have to do ab work.

My fitness routine is,
Eat, sleep, eat, sleep...
Because I am completely unfit and should probably start getting into fitness routines...
But in the mean time I shall enjoy my lazy slumbers
