I decided to start reading Atlas Shrugged. Pretty geeked about it. Anyone else a fan of Rand's work?

Atlas is a masterpiece, and almost prophetic. I won't tell you too much in details, but the way Atlas society works is pretty much how modern US functions : too many people succeeding because they have the right contacts with the government. People trying to succeed on their own are seen as selfish and are being regulated because they are in competition with the old, incompetent ones.

Although objectivism has many faults - Rand says it's justified to attack another country violating its citizen's rights -, I find it a pretty accurate way of seeing the world. Try reading Capitalism, the Unknown Ideal

I can wait to get into it. I have heard mostly good things about the book with the exception of one person who said the it is poorly written. But I can deal with a few grammatical errors if the story is good. I might take a shot at Fountainhead after that.

Who wrote Capitalism, The Unknown Ideal? Never heard of it.
