Hey guys, I know this is a pretty common topic but I can't find a solution that works in the other threads.

I used to be able to play all the games, fine with no problems. Then I took a break for about 6 months and I'm trying again now

For some games I keep getting this message. I get it on all the pokemon games when I try to use the RGR plugin. I've tried with/without chat, and various games. Some games give me the ROM, like the Legend of Zelda (original), but most that I've tried to play, don't. The games work on the non-vizzed emulators sometimes.

I've tried
-restarting my machine
-uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin (when my browser was closed)
-opening the file in incognito (so it won't use cookies, etc)

On some other games (Paper Mario), I get "Failed to download server file info" instead as an error. I don't know if this is related though

I'm on windows 7 running Chrome. Everything's up to date

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers

You have an interesting and complex problem here. There's a possibility that your internet connection might be bad. If your computer is a laptop using WiFi, you might want to consider resetting your router. If your using a desktop plugged into Ethernet, you might have a bandwidth issue which prevents you from downloading files from this site. There's also a possibility you tried playing games when Davideo7 was doing site maintenance, that would be the most likely cause. You also might want to make sure you have the latest RGR plugin..

What I think it boils down to is that a lot of things could have happened at the same time which prevented you from playing games. This is probably the best advice I can give, see if any of these things will help.

I've tried the rooter and connecting to the ethernet cable instead. I can use a different wifi tomorrow to see if that's the problem and update after. I have the latest version of the plugin

How would I fix the problem caused by playing during site maintenance?

Cheers

deeganorama : You'll want to avoid playing when Davideo7 puts up an announcement involving site maintenance. Another possible solution would be to try using Firefox instead of Chrome for RGR games.

deeganorama : Are you still experiencing this issue when trying to play games in the RGR? If so, is it happening with every game you try, or just some? Let me know and I can help figure out your issue.

Jordanv78 : I am experiencing the same issue that user deeganorama is experiencing.  I have restarted my computer, re-installed the plug-in and checked my Internet connection.  I tried multiple games and kept receiving the same error code. I did not see any announcements from Davideo7 saying he was performing maintenance.  What else can I do to try and fix this issue?

cowfit : It sounds like something is blocking you from loading the game properly. This is not an issue from the website end.

Does this problem happen with multiple game systems/consoles, or is it just one in particular that this is happening on?

Are you able to load this game? https://www.vizzed.com/play/alex-kidd-in-shinobi-world-sms-online-sega-master-system-2890-game

These are things you can look into:

1. Your firewall or anti-virus software. Make sure that it is not blocking anything from Vizzed.com.

2. Your browser. You can either switch browsers to see if you have different results (I recommend Firefox or Chrome when browsing Vizzed). I would also disable any ad blocking browser add-on's that you might be running. These can sometimes cause weird issues for some people.

Or it could just be that your internet connection is just not fast enough and times out before the load is done.

Jordanv78 : I was able to play on my laptop (on the same Internet) but my screen is cracked so it is difficult to see. I was able to play the game you linked to on my desktop, though only the Java version. I downloaded Chrome (its what I use on my laptop but my desktop uses Firefox) and it still doesn't work. I disabled my firewall and that did not help either. I know it used to work on my desktop before I moved. Do you have any other solutions?

cowfit : Beyond looking into your Firewall/Anti-Virus software there isn't a lot you can do. There is something on your end blocking these programs from downloading.

Also I know you mentioned your desktop uses firefox, have you at least TRIED a different browser on it to see if there's any change?

You can also go into your Vizzed directory on your hard drive and try deleting one of the games that you are having a problem with, then trying to re-download. This forces your computer to download it again.
