       I am having problems playing MAME games, keep getting the same error message (PROPOSED VIDEO MODE NOT SUPPORTED DEVICE \.DISPLAY1) before my vgr plugin crashes. Please help thank you.

Hm, that is a strange error, and I've never seen or even heard of it.  Does this happen when you try -all- MAME games? How many have you tried?  Do other systems work in the vgr plugin?

Try a few things and then let me know if the problem persist:

1.  Try another browser.  Although I've never had any issues personally, it has been reported that the plugin sometimes has an issue with Chrome, so try using Firefox or IE.... whichever one you're not using.
2. If that doesn't work, try restarting your computer and then playing a MAME game.
3.  If neither of those work, try uninstalling and re-installing the plugin.

Until then, I'm not really sure how to help. Maybe another staff member will have heard of this problem....?

      I have tried un-installling and re-installing the plugin. I have tried it on I.E and Chrome and its the same. I have tried restarting the computer and It's the same with all MAME games. I really don't know what's wrong with it....

I'm not sure if that's just the generic error message MAME gives when there's a video issue, but if it really is the video mode that's incompatible, you won't be able to switch the mode with the RGR Plugin.

I'd check which version of Direct X is installed. Tap the Windows key ( ) + the R key then type dxdiag to open the direct x diagnostic tool. The version installed will be listed at the bottom; should be version 9 or above.

Or go into Device Manager and check if there are any issues found with your video driver.

I feel like I've seen this before... I think the user had onboard graphics that didn't support the features necessary to run the video emulation.

Just in case... have you tried checking for updates to your video driver to make sure you have the latest version? It can't hurt.
