The 3rd installment of gen 2 Pokémon games, which I loved it 1) for the night and day feature which made the appearance of Pokémon different depending on time of day it was and most could only be caught in that time of day. 2.) I liked the idea that you could go back to Kanto and challenge all the gyms there and get a gen 1 starter from professor oak. and 3.) I felt the e4 was far better than previous installments in the Pokémon series. My only complaints are unlike yellow version were its the 3rd title in a release (green), red and blue you can  catch Pokémon that appear in both games but in crystal you cant catch all the Pokémon that appear in silver and gold versions

You could only get the gen 1 starters via time capsule in gen 2 (including Crystal). You can get them in HG/SS, though.

I think that Crystal is the definitive gen 2 game. You can finally choose your character's gender, the sprites are animated (which didn't reappear until Emerald),the pokemon sprites that were given a makeover look much better, and has a bigger sub-plot involving Suicune. Not only that, the people who called over the pokegear each had their own personalities, instead of them all being bland and uniform, as well as giving out elemental stones or informing the player about rare pokemon outbreaks.

fusionaceblus : I didn't like the fact that you couldn't get the elemental stones for Pokémon till you get to cerulean city in kanto tho, but other than that story wise is the same as gold and silver

Pokémon Crystal is one of the best games for the Game Boy and my personal favorite out of all them (to be fair, I stopped playing after Gen II).  While I love the fact that you can get evolution stones multiple times in Crystal compared to only be getting one of each in Gold/Silver, I wish being able to trade Pokémon was possible.  Nevertheless, this is an awesome game and I still find myself addicted to it.  Also, being able to have your Pokémon lay eggs is a fantastic way to collect even more Pokémon as Gen I games required you to trade more often (e.g. you had to choose either Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee but in Gen II you can get both in the same game).  Overall, I love this game the best and it's great to relive a classic RPG.

jfb4justice : Like I said previously Pokémon Crystal is a very good game my only problem with it is that some Pokémon you see in Gold and silver don't appear in Crystal even tho all three are basically the same, but in a way I'm glad that some of the Pokémon from Gold/Silver don't appear in this because it gave me a chance to remake my team by using different Pokémon  instead of making the exact same team from Gold/Silver.
