So, I'm doing a BP run in Paper Mario the Thousand year door 
 
 What is a BP run you might ask? 
 
 It is a playthrough of the game where I only upgrade BP, I am stuck with 10 HP and 5 FP through the entire game. 
 
 I have just got the 6th crystal star and have gotten the strange sack, So I think that this will be easier than I origionaly thought.  
 
The shmorg was easier then I anticipated, It went something like this. . . 
 
Mario attacks first arm killing it. 
 
Goombella tattles on it 
 
it strikes goombella twice and Mario once (goombella 15HP Mario 3HP) 
 
I attack the body (by accident) and deal no damage
 
Goombella attacks the second arm and KOed it 
 
The third arm attacks Mario (1 HP)
 
 Mario attacks the main body using multi-bounce. (16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8) 
 
Mario WINS! 
 
 my attack was 16 because of my boots (3) two power plus badges (5) and peril rush (5)

Sounds cool! But how is that possible?

earthwarrior : what do you mean 'How is that possible'? 
 
 you are never required to upgrade you HP or FP through out the entire game.

bombchu link : oh I never played thousand year door. I meant don't enemies do more than 10 damage.

earthwarrior : It is true that some enemies are pretty strong, but most of them are optional, plus if you're good with Reaction Commands this is a walk in the park. If you have a ton of BP and spend it on badges, those badges will pretty much carry you through the entire game, assuming you know what you're doing. You can even make it all the way to Bonetail doing this!

Nice. I did one when I was younger. Harder than the pokemon nuzlocke challenge but easily doable.

legacyme3 : Wow, it surprises me that you would take an interest in Paper Mario. But thanks for the compement, it means more then you think. 
 
 earthwarrior: only the sacred amazie dazie takes out more then 10, it does 20 HP per hit! And it sings you to sleep so it can attack twice. But it's still a VERY rare enemy. 
 
 P.S. You haven't played this game? GET IT NOW! I'm serious, you'll love it. 
 
 M4g1cW4rr10r: yeah, with all of the badges you can increase your attack infinetly with danger rushes and reducing you HP to 5. And there is also the deadly combo of mixing 'Jumpman' with Spike shield.

I love the Paper Mario series. Only reason I stopped playing them past TTYD was because I stopped getting Nintendo consoles.

I just enjoy my AAA titles too much to give them up for great exclusives.

atiy12 : TTYD is a GameCube game so you can easily play it on the Wii, that's how I do it these days. You just need the classic controller or the GC controller to be able to play it properly.

And as for the topic itself, that's how I pretty much played my first time through, just putting all level ups into the BP points. 

How is your BP run going. It must be a challenge trying to keep your health up. 

Beastmode64 : Yeah, It can be insanely difficult if you don't kill all of the enemies on the first turn of battle. It isn't to hard when you have spike shield, power plus, all or nothing, jumpman, and another power plus, that increace you attack to 16. but if they get to you, your dead. period.

I must say that the battle was not easy, I had to rely a lot on Bobbery and link (my Yoshi) to take most of the damage for me. (with HP + partner badges)

I failed against her twice and died once against hooktail (no SFX badge) so that but's my total at at 3 deaths. . . (not including reading the diary, and serving the queen instead of killing her.)

that's a lot less then I expected. . .

And may I also note that I lowered my HP to 5 before traveling to Poshley heights.

Congrats for betting the game! And I finally got the memory card so I can play TTYD!

Wow, that's really cool, get your BP all the way up without touching HP or FP, just use Passive Badges. That sounds really fun I might actually take that on.
