Yeah, I generally do it. It's just an easy way to make someone else's day a little bit better. Of course, sometimes you have that situation where someone's kind of far away, and you don't want to hold the door open because it would be awkward to stand there and wait for like ten seconds just for them. They might think you're a creep or something.

As for expecting other people to do it? No, it's nice when someone does and I always say thanks, but it's not insulting when they don't. It is kind of lame when you hold the door and they just walk by without saying anything, though.
