This is a small thread I'd like to start, I just want to see what you guys(and girls ) think of Metallica, one of the best Heavy Metal bands of all time(if you ask me). All and all, in here you can post your opinion about the band, their songs and even their personal lives(we all know Lars is a douche, so try to have a little variety on that one). Also, if you think there's a better *HEAVY METAL* band out there, post the name and a couple of their songs and why you think they are better than Metallica(as if ). And last but not least, try and be open minded, even if you don't enjoy Heavy Metal, listen to one of Metallica's songs, maybe you'll fall in love with it, get married and have lots of musical notes with the song(ok that was so wrong, I know, I know). Also, to those Meta-fans out there try and be nice, I knwo you can do it, and just like those people who don't like Metallica, KEEP AN OPEN MIND! _/

Dang, i thought this was about the release of Guitar Hero: Metallica. I have most of Metallica's music, but as FFviiF highlighted, Dragonforce are better. (Though ill probably buy GHL: Metallica eventually.)

Maybe they can scream louder.... but that's about it. Metallica is a much better band than any of the rest of those groups could hope to be.

St. Anger was terrible.... absolutely awful.... but Death Magnetic proved that Metallica can still make a heavy metal album in the current market. And it was so similar to their old stuff without sounding exactly like the older albums to feel like an authentic Metallica album. St. Anger just didn't sound like Metallica.... it sounded like they were trying to sound like some of the other bands on that list....

I agree. You can't get me to buy St. Anger. I didn't like Garage, Inc. either to be honest. Death Magnetic was a far better album.

Dragon Force is good, but power metal is a different sound so it is hard to compare the two. Honestly, I prefer James' voice to the singer from Dragon Force. I think that Blind Guardian is better than them as well, but again hard to compare them to Metallica. I prefer Blind Guardian's song writing to Metallica's but I can say that about a lot of metal bands. If you like those to bands then you should check out Symphony X and Rhapsody... oh, and Freedom Call.

The only song I like from Garage Inc. is Mercyful Fate, and it's because it reminds me of Kind Diamond's days with his old band of the same name, plus it's one hell of a song. =P

well, Garage Inc. is just cover songs.... so they're not songs written by Metallica but I think it's stuff they listened to while they were younger that inspired them to be a Metal band....

My favorite album is Death Magnetic. That album has the heaviest riffs I've ever heard in a Metallica album.

My favorite member is Kirk, not because he's the guitarist, but he always gets mad at the cameraguy, which find pretty funny.
