I would go with Keldeo, the yet to be released(officially) pokemon. It can spray water from its hooves to cross water, similar to Suicune. It also knows the special move Secret Sword, which is slightly different to Sacred Sword.
One day, Atlas and P-Body come out of a portal and tell you:

I have a ton of favorites actually and for different times and reasons. I like vulpix, pikachu, raichu, ninetails, houndour, houndoom, treecko, grovyle, torchic, blaziken, mudkip, persian, rapidash, pidgeotto, suicune, latios, kabutops, corsola, espeon, eevee, glaceon, vaporeon, staryu, starmie, goldeen, tyrannitar, metagross..... and that's it for now. I honestly have barely started to list them, but I don't want to bore you to death if I haven't already :p
