Hello, Happy New Year and anything else I might have forgotten. Anyway, as you might have noticed, I have been reviewing games for this site for about one and a half years now, and it has done a wonder for me. My analysis skills have boosted, and this hobby has encouraged extensive writing, both of which have helped me infinitely in my science course in college. I have been getting distinction level grades and have been told that I normally hit the nail on the head perfectly first time, while everyone else has to redo their assignments to fill in those small gaps. I can only thank this role here on Vizzed for that.
But I must also thank the community of Vizzed as well. All those ratings of 4-5 on my reviews really have been helpful to my esteem to continue this role, and thank you all for the comments that you have posted, saying how great and well thought out they all were. Each comment means a lot to me, even if I never really replied to them. Thank you all!
And so, at 125 reviews, I have to sadly say I must grind to a halt on this role. For the past 6 months I have been struggling to meet the quota, and was worried I would run out of games to review. Thankfully, something always came up, I found a bargain at a charity shop or I just remembered a game I used to play, and the quota was reached. However, I just will not be able to review any more games at a constant rate. I might drop off one or two here or there from time to time, but I will no longer be committed to the role. It has run its toll on me, and I feel that not only have I ran out of games to review, but also the stamina. Although before I found it exciting and energetic to write them, I struggled to find the time to write them, and felt I was typing the same old thing.
I could have played the games online here on Vizzed, but I really only do that when I have no other choice. I like to play the actual games on the original systems because I enjoy the feel of the controller in my hands, and thankfully there are plugin controllers for that. but another reason was because I use the computer a lot for other purposes, and since my computer sucks at handling several things at once, I often ignored this possibility, also I hate lag. I loath it, and it's one thing my computer does quite a lot. I don't want to play a classic, only to experience it at a quarter of the speed.
But all the same, I feel like I've done all I can in contributing to the site, and I feel like I've done a great job as a site reviewer. Thank you all for the support. If someone hadn't had said my very first review on Mega Man 2 review was good (even though I found it light on the subject and short for my liking), I might not have continued reviewing games and became as good as I am now. So if you're a new reviewer out there, and want a little advice: Continue making reviews. Just don't stop making them. You will never stop getting better at making them. So many times before I thought I got as good as I was going to get, then I one day surprise myself.
