I would hide anywhere I could.
Where does one get a good nights sleep?
Boats come to mind.
I would probably clear a navy boat built for a small enough crew so one dude could manage.
One of my favourite Zombie stories ran in "Heavy Metal Magazine" back in 2008-2011. This one took place in New York I think. The lead character lived on a boat to sleep. It seemed to make sense. Any one can hide. Very few are able to sleep or have a fridge. Boats Seem to have what I would need. Though I have no major Idea how I could keep up with my daily protein Intake. (I wouldn't want to burn off too much of my muscles just staying alive.) SO, I would have to scavenge often.

Other than that I have heard of a few odd bunker building nuts that I have found comical. Just look up one of those guys and take his gear.

Honestly though. Who wants to take on some nut that spent his spare time planning for the end of the world?

I'll gladly take over some wealthy dudes Yaht. Oh, excuse me ... "Commandeer". Commandeer a Yaht.
Good Luck To All.
I'm done. Stick a fork in me.
Peace.
(Now If I can only get someone to wear a Bird costume.)

All this stuff about military bases and military shelters.. is a bad idea.. I have seen to many places like that with somebody dumb who eventually do something stupid and end up letting a zombie in ... then BOOM! Your all the living dead. A school would not be a great idea.. because many doors can cause alot of confusion especially if your trying to make sure there is no way for the zombies to get in.  And I'll say it again..theres always somebody who ends up doing something stupid.. and gets everyone killed, especially in a big group. I think that a grocery store roof would be good.. as long as the doors downstairs were sealed and nothing can pass thorough. Plenty of food.. most of time a bathroom. Good things to have in something like this. But all the places that are secured with military protection are always the first hit. Be careful. Lol

I would hide in the closest jail or mental asylum because they are well stocked with food  and there doors and such are made to keep people out and inside.

I would probably stay on the go, or even stay at a place for a little while until I think it's time to find a new place. I wouldn't be able to stock much food up if I decided to live in one single place.

Head north. I live a half a block away from a river that runs north out of the city. Canoe full of gear and me and the family are swiftly on our way out. As for any zombies that can swim, they won't be able to swim as fast as a canoe getting paddled. Once out of the city, stay away from populated centres and head north to find a place to spend the winter. When the zombies freeze, their brains will lose the ability to carry the electrical signals that they need to move and Voila! If you can survive the first winter, your chances of survival just easily tripled. When the weather changes to warm, pick a nice northern city to go to an bam, you have the entire dead city at your fingertips! Liquor, gas, food and lodging in abundance! I kind of hope a zombie apocalypse would happen, just so I could return to the empty city after a winter and go anywhere or do anything.

Well, my plan at the moment, is that if it happens when I am at home, I basically gather up my supplies, run into the woods which are pretty secluded and wait there for things to calm down.  Once things have, I'll find a car, and drive north to a camp ground/ trailer park that I know of that is in a very secluded spot.  It has a lake and everything.  Hopefully that would go to plan.  That is basically where I would hide.  I also know my way around the woods very well so I would be able to run pretty deep and and be able to find my way out.

My current plan is if I'm home, I'm going to barricade myself in my basement with a few days worth of supplies and stay very, very quiet. After the initial panic is over I'll attempt to contact friends/family/loved ones and see if there's a safe place all of us could meet up at. If I'm out of the house or in a store, again I'm going to gather as many supplies as I can and fight my way to a safe, out of the way location. It's all about isolating yourself in safety and surviving that initial panic until you can come up with a better gameplan.
