I would say crystal and soulsilver because it has some of my favourite pokemon and a greater adventure then the rest. Silver and gold isn't on the best because of one thing: Battle animations. JOHTO RULES!

My personal favorite was (and still is) Sapphire. I never did beat it though. I think the elite 4 are getting harder every time. I mean, have you SEEN Cynthia's team? Level 60's all around and a spiritomb. Soul Silver did feel easier though, and I heard Black and White are going to be easier too.

Also Elubell, I think DS stands for Double Screen. Seriously.

Pokemon Yellow. It was the first Pokemon game I ever played so it's probably the nostalgic factor and the fact that Pikachu is my faveorite pokemon and it was so awesome seeing the Pikachu start to like you more as the adventure went on.

I love most of the pokemon games out there(except for the 4th and 5th gen...), but I'd have to say SoulSilver is my favorite. It has the older pokemon I love, with the newer features and graphics I've come to love. In my opinion, that makes it the best of both worlds!

I loved the blue version, as it was my first pokemon game but gold/silver are definetaly my favorites!! they are much longer and have new pokemon (although i think the first ones are best obviously). right now i'm playing Ruby and I'm loving it!! i love the new type combinations (like combusken)!! it has great graphics...

Red and blue for me, you can't beat the original. You had the power to catch ALL of the pokemon in the pokedex. I know you could just trade to gold and silver, but trading between red and blue was so much easier. That's a problem I have with the newer games.
