(Y'know how I said I would be making a pasta of PKMNB2? That was a lie. Just like the cake. Anyway, here you go pasta fans.)
There was alot of fun things I could remember about Sonic CD. It was fun, innovative, and overall amazing. So when I saw it at the pawn shop, I bought it. The pawn shop owner stared at me in confusion as I literally drooled over the game.
It was still in the box, and it was strange looking. It didn't have box art, just 'Sonic CD' typed on it in a Comic Sans MS font. I didn't care. I stuck it into the SEGA CD eagerly.
The SEGA CD startup animation was different...the planet was missing, and the sound was inverted. I didn't care at all. After pressing start however...
The screen was black. No SEGA logo, no title screen, blackness. Then, it cut to a picture. It was that stupid creepy picture of Sonic with Mario's face, wagging his finger at me like a dingus. I pressed start and nothing happened, it just stayed on the screen. The music soon faded out, and Sonic turned to the screen, as if staring at me.
A small text box appeared on the screen, it was japanese. However, I had taken several japanese classes and was able to loosely translate it: Death, Hurt, Anguish.
It appeared if the creepy Sonic/Mario was saying the words. Suddenly the textbox went away, and blood leaked out of the mutant Sonic's eyes. Then, I heard an actual speaking voice, surprisingly in english, it said "Why aren't you turning back? I'm going to kill you."
I realized that the game was probably hacked, and I slammed the controller on the ground. Dang, why does this kind of thing happen to me? But as I was about to turn off the system, I felt a powerful electric shock in my finger as I touched the off button.
The game immediately went to Palmtree Panic act 1. I smiled and sat down to play the game.
Then I saw Sonic's face.
It was a scarier version of the Somario face. It was more disfigured. Sonic smiled at me, and the game went to the time travelling animation.
The game went to the bad future version of act 1. Sonic still had that face, but I saw his hands were covered in tiny red pixels, giving me the impression of blood.
I tried not to throw up as I saw dead animals everywhere, almost like that Sonic.EXE story on the internet.
I immediately noticed the relationships with the game and froze. Sonic tapped his foot impatiently, his eyes frantically rolling around in his head.
I decided to suck it up like a man and play. I moved Sonic, and he limped, almost like he was in severe pain. I feared walking too much, because every time I walked Sonic looked more and more frantic and in pain.
As I reached the end of the level, Sonic was crawling instead of running and I could hear tiny muffled breaths coming from the game system.
The Game Over screen came up as Sonic fell to the ground and died. The creepy U.S. game over theme played, even though I was playing the European version.
The screen went to blank, and I heard Sonic's heavy breathing, except this time it was louder and less muffled. Then I saw the Sonic/Mario screen come up again, except he was taking deep heavy breaths. He was all bloody and had no arms, instead there were bloody stubs.
Suddenly, Sonic lunged toward the screen with a deafening scream and the SEGA CD shut off. I grabbed the system and started hitting it with a hammer. I ripped the game out of the system, broke it, burned it, and smashed it into bits.
I threw the remains of the game and the system into the dump the next day. I was finally rid of that terrible experience.
Although, sometimes, I swear I hear muffled breaths behind me. (Y'know how I said I would be making a pasta of PKMNB2? That was a lie. Just like the cake. Anyway, here you go pasta fans.)
