P.S.  (pre script) pay no attention to the scores, I selected them at random.  who needs scores for the legendary mario 3? 

How do you make a mario game epic?  As epic as mario 2 was, it helps to not rip off a non-mario game and replace the main characters with mario characters (you know what you did, nintendo). 

I love the introduction of the map for each world.  It gives the player the dual options of being completionist and clearing out the map or B-lining to the goal line.  Also, the introduction of the Koopa Kids gives each level a new boss character at the end. 

I also love the toad houses, the roaming baddies, the item selections, and especially the suits.  the frog suit, the raccoon suit, and especially the tanooki and hammer bros suit.  brilliant.  also, using the tanooki suit and introducing it to america without any explanation or apology.  they are rabid for mario, who cares if it incorporates bizarre yet awesome cultural references. 

Also, I love those miniboss castle levels.  And the 2 player mode with the brilliant mario bros arcade game reference. 

i recommend mario 3 for 1 or 2 players, it's the bee's knees.

Yeah, I remember having a NES and a origional copy of the game. I loved it, the only problem was that I could never beat the first world. ( I was 6 at the time) Oh well, still a nice,  great, legendary game!

Good game, and best of them all. Too bad a I can't play it.. (None of my emulators are working).

good call, thanks!  the title can't JUST be mario 3 though, that is an irrational pet peeve of mine for a review's title to only be the title of the game (not that this wasn't my most non-descriptive title ever, lol).
