So I was watching a few episodes of Pokémon recently and I started to notice some things that I suddenly realized bother me, and sometimes even annoyed me. So I decided that I wanted to see if anybody else knows what I mean and name and explain a few of there own problems, loop holes and any kind of inconsistency with their favorite shows. So to start off I will tell my recent realization about Pokémon:

I noticed that sometimes you as the viewer will notice an easier way to do things, but do any of the characters ever do it? Of course not, they suddenly risk their life sometimes the life of others too, and do something complete stupid. For instance, there was an episode where Togepi was running around a blimp when found in a dangerous spot Ash could have simply used Bulbasaur to reunite Misty with Togepi, but instead Misty decides that she can get Togepi and starts dangerous ascending up a pole onto a girder and walks toward Togepi. Now Ash does send out Bulbasaur to hold Misty waist to help her, and I face palmed so hard!

Anyone else got one they would like to share?

I don't have complaints of any one show. I have complaints about shows today. There's so much crap on TV today, in fact I blocked Disney channel from my TV.

Voldo : Completely agree with you, today's television pretty much blows and I do not blame you at all for blocking Disney, while on the subject of Disney do you or anyone on here remember Toon Disney? That was some awesome television, but anyway when I say complaints I guess I should have said this whole thing better it is more like what you find in a series things that don't make sense or just shouldn't be entirely. I thought of some today myself with a show, but I would like to give someone else a turn if more people say something on this thread I'll give out more that I discover.

I really like the idea of this thread.

I can't stand when an anime deviates so much from the manga. Elfen Lied is the perfect example. The manga wasn't complete when the anime began so as a result, a major point in the plot was altered differently by the anime staff which would change everything. The anime was never finished. I don't mind some changes; that's expected. Just don't radically alter the story.

NotJon : Anime does this all the time... much like how movies take liberties from books they're based on... but it's worse in anime because they so often go ahead of the manga and then just make up random filler crap until they have new source material. Bleach is a perfect example of this. There was one point I recall hearing about where they got ahead of the manga so they invented their own plot arc where the characters got new moves and everything... and then suddenly and for unexplained reasons back where they were before this plot arc began and the events of that arc were never acknowledged as if it didn't happen.

Now sometimes custom plot arcs can be interesting... and sometimes they do it because in Japan everyone's already READ the manga and know that story... so why not give them something new instead of a retelling? The thing is... I DON'T read manga so every time an anime deviates from the manga but then tries to give a nod to the fact that there's more story untold... well that just makes me interested in seeing THAT story but it never gets made in animated form. Examples of this include Elemental Gelade, Dream Eater Merry, and Sacred Blacksmith. I enjoyed all three of those... but they made me interested in the stories they DIDN'T cover.

Those are great examples, and I know exactly what you both mean and as was mentioned before Anime tends to pull that move a lot. I don't understand when they never mention it again to, like we are just going to forget it was ever mentioned or brought up. Perfect example the GS Ball from the Jhoto series or Pokémon, they never came back to Kurt with any answers and they just never mentioned it again. Another show I would like to point out and I put some series thoughts into this one because to me the show seemed more realistic rather than set in a fantasy type of world, Yu-Gi-Oh! First off, Pegasus created the game so if he has ever single card then there would have been 5 Blue Eyes White Dragons at the beginning right? Also, Kaiba kills me when he rips Salomon's Blue Eyes because he won the duel the card was his fair and square (sort of) but he rips it so no one uses it against him...uh? Maybe it was because you could only have 3 cards in your deck. Anyway, I have noticed that this is a place where a card game means the end of the world, which makes no sense it's a flipping card game. Is there society so under minded that losing a game of cards is earth shattering? If our Governments system determined things by playing a game of duel monsters with fending Countries then there might be a problem. If anyone who reads this have played the actual official card game then  you know that the shows version of the game is drastically different by what each card does, and again this doesn't make much sense to me why does it do different things then what I have seen on the television? Oh and Mokuba needs to stop complaining and just be patient, I understand in duelist kingdom he was a prisoner and wanted his big brother to save him but my god do we need to know every flipping episode?
