I have an HP Pavilion g6 notebook. It has a 2.3 GHz AMD Athlon 2 P360 dual-core processor and 4 GB RAM.

Recently it has been heating up a lot and more than a few times now has shut down randomly.

Is it likely that this has been happening because of playing a vizzed game (pokemon fire red)?

If so is there a way I could lessen the load on my computer and still play the game?

its not amassing but its not downright terrible either.
Have a look at performance monitor while its running, see how much data its proccesing and memory is being used.
Equaly your fan could be broken/rubbish.
Theres a safety feature, if the pc gets too hot it shuts down, it stops the parts breaking

I've played GBA games on MUCH weaker systems before without much issue. If your computer is overheating, it's probably due to a combination of things and not just Vizzed. You could have some sort of malware running in the background that's overworking your CPU. That would be the first thing I would investigate personally.

Thank you for the help. I recently got rid of malwarebytes as I think it was conflicting with microsoft security essentials so hopefully everything will work better now
